How did Scott and Lydia get together? I always liked to imagine they started to dating in university

it's true. they both go into education.

yeah. they BOTH go into education. they go to different colleges in california, but they bond again when they find out they're both going through the education program.

then they start dating. and then they graduate. and then they move in together. and then they get engaged. and then they get married. no one opposes their union. they make sense together. they have a dog named louis.

the wedding's in malibu, because lydia's that bitch, and they honeymoon in greece, because lydia is That Bitch. her ring is several diamonds. her gown is vera wang.

it's all shockingly normal. it's the only thing in scott's life that's gone off without a hitch since he was sixteen years old.

scott teaches second grade and lydia teaches high school math (all levels). they jog together. they go on wine tastings. scott likes to cook.

and 👏 they 👏 are 👏 married 👏

Lydia smiled at the poem, written on a red piece of cardstock tied to a single red rose. It had been tucked under her windshield wiper, and she would bet her entire scholarship to MIT that Scott had called Stiles to tell him to put it there. Long-distance relationships were trying, but so far, she and Scott had made it work.

Still, she kind of wished they'd been able to be together for Valentine's Day. They had Skype plans for this evening, but she hadn't seen Scott in person since New Year's, and it would be spring break before she'd be back in Beacon Hills.

"Happy Valentine's Day."

Lydia whirled around at the voice. Scott stood behind her, hands stuffed in his back pockets and grinning like an idiot.

She couldn't believe her eyes. They were playing tricks on her.

She blinked, but Scott was still there.

Lydia launched herself across the space between them and into his arms. He caught her effortlessly and nuzzled into the hair right above her ear.

"Oh my God, you're here." Lydia tightened her grip around his neck. "You're actually here. When did you get here and how did I not know about it?"

"Derek picked me up at the airport last night," Scott said. "I spent the night at his place, and he dropped me off when he came to get Stiles half an hour ago."

"Oh my God," Lydia said again. "I thought for sure you would have Stiles help you with whatever you had planned."

Scott laughed into her hair. "Considering he's the one who actually lives with you, we thought it would be better if he didn't. Since it was supposed to be a surprise."

Lydia pressed her face into Scott's shoulder. She still couldn't believe he was here. "It was definitely that."

He kissed her temple and hugged her tighter. "Good. You ready to see what other surprises I have in store?"

Lydia pulled back so she could actually look at him and cupped his cheek. She smiled so hard her cheeks ached. "I can't wait."

Why do you ship marcall? I totally dig it but I'm just curious

because i think they’d be dynamic and fulfilling together. because they’d be beautiful together. because they’d be That Couple, the couple to which all hold themselves in comparison. because there's something deeply warm and comforting in scotts eyes that lydia didn't realize she needed and he makes her laugh, which - lets face it - no one does. because lydia makes scott feel soft and strong in turns and she's sharp and funny. because lydia’s never had somebody make her come like that.

So last night, @mad-madam-m posted a great Scott/Lydia ficlet, and I immediately sent it to @lavenderek so we could shout about it, which is what we do when anyone writes anything Scott/Lydia. We both loved it, and then we ended up riffing on the prompt late into the night. When I reread the conversation this morning it brought me so much joy I wanted to share it. (Sorry for absconding with your prompts, M!)

And so, have a Scydia university AU not-fic where Scott is an RA and Lydia is a math tutor and feelings happen.

Best scydia fic you've ever read?

Oh, hm. I haven’t actually read a whole lot of Scydia fics (I don’t usually go searching for fics; I have more than I can read with just what crosses my dash on Tumblr and Twitter from fic recs and such) but here are the ones I found in my Scydia tag:

This one from alocalband, which is Lydia talking to Stiles about how she and Scott got together. I think it was the first Scydia fic I ever read.
