Custody Battle

Marcey and Quaritch arguing over who gets custody of Spider. Tsu'tey is in the background keeping Spider close to him as they as both witnessing two grown adults argue like children.

Marcey: LIKE HELL I'LL LET YOU TAKE MY BABY BOY!

Quaritch: HE WAS MY KID FIRST!

Marcey: He may have been your kid first, but I was the one who raised him after you abandoned him!

Quaritch: I was murdered by a crazy blue women!

Marcey: YOU KILLED PEOPLE!

Quaritch: SO DID YOU

Marcey: ONLY BECAUSE YOU GUYS DID IT FIRST!

Tsu'tey: *looks down at his son* I'm sorry you have to see this ridiculous display son.

Spider: *shrugs* It's okay dad, mom's just worried for me. It's not like you would start to argue with Quaritch over me like mom.

Tsu'tey: Oh! Their would be no arguing.

Spider: *looks at his dad with relief* Thats good, I thought I would hav-

Tsu'tey: Because I would personally kill that demon before he even had a chance of taking you.

When Spider gets kidnapped

How each of the Lanster family reacts to the news of Spider being taken by the sky people. This will be a small ficlet to a much bigger fic once I've completed Eywa sees me and I see eywa. The title of said fic is still in the works.

Marcey- She couldn't believe it. Her first child, her Ayeyu, her spider. The first child that brought her the joys of being a mother. The one that she first got to hold in her previous body before the transfer. Was gone, taken from his family, taken from her by the horrid sky people. She wants to scream, to yell at her brother jake for her son being taken, but she can't bring herself to blame Jake. Because the man is just as broken as she is over Spider being taken. All she can do is cry into her mates arms and beg eywa to watch over and protect her child.

Ama- It's all his fault....if he hadn't of followed his cousins to see the old shack in the forest. Then Spider would still be here, Spider would be here with them safe and sound. Ama feels tears start to fall down his cheeks and his throat feels raw from all the screaming and sobbing he's been doing since they arrived back at High Camp. His poor mother is distraught over Spider being kidnapped. He feels a huge amount of guilt for allowing his big brother to be taken. Ama cuddles closer to his mother as he whispers over and over, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry...It's all my fault".

Tsu'tey- It takes a lot for a man like him to feel like the world has crumbled under him. He's only ever felt like this once in his life and that was after Sylwanin was killed by the sky people at the school house. Nothing could ever make him feel like that then when he was rescuing his children from the demons and failed to rescue his son Spider. His and his mates first child, the miracle child that brought so much light into Tsu'tey's life was now gone. All he could do was pull his remaining children and mate close and comfort them through this horrific event.

Ru'ak- He felt like a failure. Ru'ak felt like he had failed his brother Spider. How could he allow his brother to be taken? How will his family cope without their older brother with them. Spider was the center of their whole family. Bringing warmth and happiness where ever he went. Now he was gone and it was Ru'ak's job to look out for siblings and parents. Ru'ak would not allow anymore harm to come to his family.

Ami- It's not possible...no it can't be true? Her big brother Spider taken? Her big strong courageous brother was kidnapped. Taken from them by the demons that her father and mother told stories about before bed time. Ami didn't want to believe it and she screamed at her uncle and aunt that they were lying and that Spider wasn't gone! He couldn't be gone....but he was gone and Ami felt like a part of her was gone...the part that Spider kept safe had been ripped away from her. All poor Ami could do was cuddle into her mothers embrace and sob at the heartache of her brother being taken by monsters.

Lanster Family Facts

In my Avatar AU with Marcey and Tsu'tey raising Spider as their child, along with their other three children. I wanted to share some facts about the Lanster Family!

Spider and Ama and Lo'ak are known as the chaos trio. Because their is no peace and quiet when these three are together.

Ru'ak and Neteyam both understand the burden of being an older sibling and the responsibilities that come with it. Which is why these two are very close friends.

Ami and Tuk are like two peas in a pod. They do everything together, from fishing, crafting, hunting, and even chores. These two are always seen together! You will never find one without the other.

Ru'ak looks up to not just his father, but also his uncle Jake. His uncle was Toruk Makto! His uncle is a literal living legend among the people. The one who drove the sky people away from Pandora. The one his father fought side by side with in the Battle of the Mountains.

Ama and Lo'ak and Kiri all bonded early on in their younger years due to feeling like an outcast among the people, due to having five fingers instead of four, and eyebrows. Both of which are not features seen among the rest of Omaticaya, besides Ama's mother and Lo'ak's father and Kiri's mother, Grace.

Ama's favorite field of science is botany. This is because Marcey herself introduce it to Ama at a young age, when she took notice of her baby boys fascination with the plants of Pandora. This subject of science was one of Marcey's favorites, and she has no problem fueling that wonder and curiosity into her third eldest child.

Norm hates the fact that Marcey taught her kids, specifically Spider, the wonders of computers and the chaotic joys of hacking. Because now the poor man can't go a day without his data pad being child locked and having to ask Marcey to disable said child lock. Marcey finds it to be hilarious, while Norm is less than pleased.

Another fact about Marcey, her father was a Marine sniper back when he was younger and he passed those skills onto Marcey when she was a kid. She passes these lesson's onto her second eldest child, Ru'ak, who picks it up rather quickly. However, he prefers using his bow and arrows as his main weapon, and the sniper rifle as his third weapon, and his knife as his secondary weapon. As Ru'ak is very much like Tsu'tey and sticks to his clans traditions, but is also willing to adapt if necessary.

Ama, is lot like Lo'ak, in that he just wants to make his parents proud by proving that he's the most capable warrior possible. This drive often causes tension between him and his Mother, who while being the most close too, often views his recklessness and foolishness as dangerous. Marcey doesn't want her son to rush into things without thinking about the actions that follow. This doesn't help with the fact that Ama is a lot like Marcey was as a kid. Marcey was a trouble maker as a child and often got into stupid shit growing up. Tsu'tey points this out on more than one occasion to his mate, much to Marcey's dismay.

A Spider is Home

Lanster Family reactions to when Spider finds his way back to his family and reunites with them in the Metkayina village.

Marcey- She could hardly believe it. She must be imagining things cause that can't possibly her Ayeyu, her Spider standing in front of her outside their mauri. She must be so desperate to see her child again that her mind plays a cruel trick and conjures up a likeness of her son as a way to mock her for her failure to rescue him just months prior. However that train of thought shatters when she hears him speak, "I'm home mama". And she losses it and starts bawling in tears pulling Spider into her arms. She screams out thanking eywa profusely again and again for bringing her child back to her all the while giving her son lots and lots of kisses to his forehead and to the top of his head.

Tsu'tey- He was working with the fisherman near one of the shallow drop offs in the water when he hears the screams of his mate's voice from their mauri. He all but flings the net in his hands to one of the metkayina men, who graciously catches it, as he bolts from the water and makes a run for it to their mauri. A million things run through his head, have the sky people found them? Is his mate hurt? What could cause his mate to scream like that? All those thoughts vanish from his mind when he takes in the sight of his first eldest child, the one lost to them for so many months, is being cradled in his mates arms. He can hardly believe it....his Spider is home. His first born, the one that brought so much joy to him and his mate is home. "....Ma Spider...Ma'itan?" Tsutey barely whimpers out as his hands shake and tears form in his eyes. Spider looks to his father and smiles, "I'm home Sempu". Tsu'tey losses it and scrambles to join in the cuddle pile of both his mate and son and relishing in his Spider's earthy scent. His son is home safe and sound.

Ama- He had been with Roxto looking for fruits for the cook fire when he had heard his mothers screaming. The shirl sound of his mother's voice nearly startled the poor boy and almost caused him to drop the fruits in his hands to the ground. Roxto looks just as startled as Ama by the shirl voice of his friends mothers voice. "My friend, is your mother okay?" He had asked looking at Ama. "I don't know...I'm gonna go check it out. You finish grabbing the rest of the fruits for the cook fire tonight" Ama says before running towards his family's mauri. Ama usually isn't one to worry about his mother, considering she's a capable warrior in her own right, but the tone of his mother's screaming seemed one of almost relief, maybe even disbelief and that alone causes Ama to worry. His mother is one of the strongest people he knows, so for her to sound like that...something must be wrong. So he quickens his pace to his house, and as he makes it to the entrance he's taken aback when he also see's his father and mother huddle around something, or rather someone. No...It couldn't be could it? Ama looks into their mauri and immediately starts bawling at the sight of seeing his older brother Spider. "SPIDER! YOUR ALIVE!" Ama screams before rushing into the cuddle pile. His parents open their arms wide for their son to join, pulling him in close to them. His big brother is back, and he couldn't be happier.

Ru'ak- When he and his younger sister heard their younger brother scream out Spider's name as they both bolted towards their house after hearing his mothers screaming. He immediately picks up his pace picking up Ami, so that she doesn't fall behind and comes crashing into the mauri and right into his family's waiting arms. "We missed you so much Spider! We thought we'd never see you again" Ru'ak chokes out as tears fall from his eyes, Ami is also crying cause her big brother is home. Spider, who at this point is also crying, pulls his younger brother and sister in closer. "I thought I'd never see any of you guys again...I'm so happy your all okay" Spider says. Ru'ak smiles, a wide happy smile for the first time in a long while.

Amiryat- Ami had been trying to keep pace with her as they both bolted towards their home. Who could cause her sa'nok to scream so loudly like that? Had the demons found them? Ami's concerns got worse as they got closer and closer to their home. However, when Ama screams out Spider's name. Ru'ak and them run faster and at some point her brother picks her up so that she doesn't fall behind. It's when they bolt into the mauri that Ami see's Spider cuddled with the rest of her family that she starts crying. "SPIDER YOUR HOME! SPIDER! " Ami screams as she crawls into her big brothers lap. She can hardly believe it. Her Spider is home, he's escaped the demons and has returned to them safe and sound.

Did Tsu'tey and Neytiri ever think that Jake and Marcey are mates and get jealous about it before its cleared up? I just think it'd be funny😁

Tsu'tey at first assumed they were mates when they first meet cause I'm gonna have a line of dialogue when both Jake and Marcey enter the Home Tree for the first time and Marcey is arguing with Jake about who should be doing the talking. From the perspective of the Na'vi, they kinda act like an old married couple who are arguing over something mundane. Neytiri, I would like to think would not assume that they were mates considering I'm gonna have her see them as just two typical siblings that argue over simple things, which will be supported by the interactions that she observes between the two of them. And I'm gonna have it go something like this:

"If anyone is gonna do the talking around here it should be me. I have the most experience and I actually can understand what their saying cause I'm fluent in Na'vi!" Marcey quips.

"Of course I'll let you do the talking.....after I've talked with them first." Jake says.

Marcey groans pinching her nose to stave off the headache that is trying to appear due to Jake's stupidity. "No way I'm gonna let you screw this up. You do realize that this is our chance to re-open a conversation with the native population right? If you screw this up with your idiocy, I will personally strangle you." Marcey says glaring at Jake.

Tsu'tey chuckles and looks to Neytiri, "That moron should listen to his mate. She at least knows how to survive in the forest, unlike her companion"

Neytiri chuckles at this and nods slightly in agreement. "I don't think they are mates, they look more like two siblings arguing" She says.

Tsu'tey look at his friend surprised before stealing a glance back at the two dreamwalkers that are currently still arguing.

"They clearly look like mates. I don't see how they look like siblings who butt heads" He says frowning.

Neytiri rolls her eyes before looking back at her friend, "Then why don't you ask them if they are a mates" She says.

Tsu'tey huffs in annoyance before glancing back at the dream walkers and saying in harsh Na'vi, "You should listen to your mate dream walker, she can slightly "see" better than you".

Jake looks at Tsu'tey confused, while Marcey looks at him mortified at the mere mention of Jake and her being a couple.

"What did he just say?" Jake asked looking to Marcey.

Marcey shudders slightly before saying, "He said you should listen to me since I can apparently "see" better than you and also implied that we are mates".

At first Jake wants to be offended by the first part of that remark, but the mention of mates throws him off.

"Wait mates? As in like a married couple?! EWWW GROSS! I see you as my sister!" Jake exclaims horrified by their assumptions of him and Marcey.

"HOW DO YOU THINK I FEEL!" Marcey starts saying before looking directly at Tsu'tey and saying in Na'vi, "We are not a couple, nor are we mates! I would rather be lost in the forests of Pandora then be mated to this idiot, plus I was already engaged to this idiots twin brother".

Tsu'tey looks at both of them shocked, "You both act like an old married pair that argue".

Marcey groans, "You'd be surprised at how many times we've both been compared to as an old bickering married couple, but I can assure you we are not a thing."

This was just one idea I had and to be honest if anyone is gonna be jealous it's 100 % gonna be Tsu'tey. That man looks like the kind of guy that doesn't like to see his girl being friends with other guys, or at the very least doesn't like how close they are to said girl. Which is hilarious because through out the three months that Jake and Marcey are their, Tsu'tey still assumes there's something going on between them even though Marcey has stated on multiple instances that their is nothing going on between her and Jake. Also it'd be pretty awkward to date the twin brother of the man you were once engaged too, who is also dead and also happens to be an identical twin to said brother.

Tsu'tey: *see's marcey laughing at something Jake says* *glares and frowns*

Neytiri: *insert "i'm so done with my friends jealous attitude" eye roll* "You do realize theirs nothing going on between them.

Tsu'tey: *glares and frowns even more*

Neytiri: *huffs in annoyance and throws her arms in the air* "Your a moron"

Noticed that you mentioned that Marcey had cancer. How do Tsu'tey, Neytiri and the other Na'vi react to this knowledge?

Okay, so I'm still working out the whole plot thread for Marcey having cancer, but I can leave you with some snip its of what I have concept wise for my fic.

When Tsu'tey and Neytiri first learn of Marcey's illness is from her telling them before the big battle against the sky people. There's not much time to fully explain what cancer is to either of them, and while their confused at first, which is understandable because the Na'vi don't have anything sickness wise that comes close to what Marcey has. Tsu'tey and them maybe understand a bit about what cancer is.

It's only after the battle and the sky people have left that Marcey fully explains what cancer is and it's affects on the human body, how it's an incurable disease that can only be managed through harsh treatments that take tremendous toll on ones body and mental well-being.

Marcey mentions how cancer can appear in just about anyone, whether your healthy or not, sometimes it can be passed genetically. Most of the women on Marcey's mom's side of the family have contracted some form of cancer. Most have made a full recovery, but for her mother it came on later in life and unfortunately she passed away.

"Sh-She has maybe three years to live"

Those three little words, "three years to live", stab deep into Tsu'tey's heart. He still can't comprehend his mates illness even with their diagrams and explanations, because all he can focus on is that she is essentially dying and theirs nothing anyone can do to help stop it. His mate, the one that helped mend his once broken heart and helped him move on from the loss of his first love, is cursed with a sickness that has no cure and little chances for survival.

On the other side, Neytiri has prepare for the inevitable burying/mourning of another person she holds dear and see's as a sister, only this person is still alive, but essentially has to watch as a sickness with no cure destroys her "sisters" body from the inside and she is helpless to stop it. No amount of herbs and medicine can help her dear sister Marcey. Neytiri expresses her despair and heart ache to her mate Jake, who also feels helpless to the situation surrounding Marcey.

Of course word travels around the village over the news of Tsu'tey's mates illness and much of people's reactions are meet with tears and wails of heart break. Mo'at is especially effected by this because she is tsahik, she should be able to cure anything! But this illness surrounding her adopted daughter is foreign in nature and because of that she feels powerless. How can she call herself a healer when she can't even help her own adopted daughter! She feels like she has failed as a tsahik and as a healer.

A lot of the conflicts and struggles behind Marcey's cancer is between her and Tsu'tey and also the adoption of Spider. Tsu'tey doesn't want to see his mate die so young, while Marcey struggles with wanting to give their son Spider time to enjoy the human aspects of life, but also balance that with the culture of the Na'vi. This creates a mental strain on Marcey as she doesn't want to leave her mate and son behind just because she selfish and wants to still continue doing her research and enjoy being human for a while longer before transferring permanently.

This is what I have so far, I wanna expand upon it in the next installment after the main story, but this is essentially it!
