Maison Martin Margiela black skirt with lining pulled out of the pockets — fall 2003 Not shown on the runway (or perhaps underneath that one long coat) but here's a small photodump of FW2003 detail references. As you can see the season was infused by glimpses of lining showing. Whether it was by creating fake tears or by adding axcessive fabric as if it was ripped due to fitting. A fairly understated collection except for the glorious confetti tabi boots. A new member to our artisanal line: Maison Martin Margiela artisanal mint top made of a jumper with twisted sleeves — 2000/2004 Believe it or not. We promised menswear and we're starting it off with a Margiela artisanal 0 10 mens jumper, fused together with a deconstructed waistcoat. You can see the half of the original pinstripe panel with buttons. The other bust is covered with the initial lining. The backbelt has been placed on the left hip and some additional black lining fabrice finishes off trims on the other side. New in: a variation of this FW2002 Margiela artisanal dress. Since all artisanal pieces are handmade and original pieces are often handsourced, there will be not two the same. Our version is almost the same but has a tartan deconstructed skirt inserted. A fun detail is, that when you look inside underneath the lining, the original skirt's tag is still attached. These 1999 Margiela Artisanal trompe-l'oeil shoulder pads have been on my selling grail list for so long! I was only able to find them for price over 1200€ which is, to be honest, so ridiculously overpriced that it's offensive. So I am happy to offer these as a consignment piece for a collector that wants a fair price. Do not be mistaken, these are not padded! Yes, I was surprised too when I received them. Because even though they have the stitches and padding printed, I assumed they were structured. Therefor I tried to photograph them from multiple angles. Just to make sure the dimensions translated well. The shoulder pads were meant to be snapped on ss99 flat dresses, re-editioned from spring and fall 1998 in a different silhouette, and some semi-couture vests printed with trompe-l'oeils too. Those vests were a crossover re-edition from the ss1997 and the ss1996 collection. The prints of these shoulders pads were also taken from the ss1996 trompe-l'oeil collection. The concept of shoulder pieces came from multiple seasons, since Martin made shoulder pads and detacheable sleeves in many of his 90's collections. It's quite rare to find an accessory from the Margiela Artisanal line with the label still intact. Originally the Margiela labels were meant to be cut off, hence the 4 loose stitches. Plus as you can see on this spring 2005 necklace: the tag is quite big in comparison and would get in the way when wearing. Luckily this necklace wasn't worn and comes in perfect condition. It's made of heavy chainlink, covered in the finest of black silk, so you can imagine the look it would get by chafing. Martin Margiela's fall 2000 collection is most known for the oversized garments. But a small portion of the collection were mirrored pieces such as this jumper where the back and front are exactly the same. Perhaps the largeness of the oversized pieces literally overshadowed the double-sided garments? So here is a chance to have a good look at them: you get a logo on the front and the neck (double Margiela for the price of one) and the cuffs are designed with closures on both sides.
