One of the first things mariamoxie did around me that endeared me to her was fall asleep.
This was way back almost six years now. She and I were just hanging out as friends, bonding over how similar and close our lives had been yet hardly ever having spoken.
I had my n64 with me in my dorm, so I set Maria to playing Kirby while I did some type of homework. We chatted while this stuff was happening. But after a while Maria got quiet because she had fallen asleep in her chair.
Driven by a curious feeling of protectiveness? Goodwill? I grabbed a blanket, which is known in my circle as The Comfy Blanket and sort of draped it over Maria so she would be more comfortable. She probably slept for half and hour or so, and I didn’t bother her or anything. I just figured what the heck, got a girl I barely know asleep in my room, she must be tired or something. (I didn’t know at the time that she is borderline narcoleptic and will try to fall asleep at every opportunity.)
And she has tried to steal that blanket from me ever since.
But really. We fell so easily into being wonderful to one another and feeling safe and comfortable with each other. That was October of 2008.

it occurs to me that it will require a different ladder, one that doesn't stick out like a hitchhiker's leg, but that's an easy enough thing to make. yay floorspace~
