hey mei? could you tag your anti charming stuff? bashing the charmings is not my wheelhouse.
Sorry, I've got nothing against them as people, just as rulers. Hmm, how about I tag it.... "Not So Charming Rulers" for you?
maridee42 said: it was just scrambled and confused and ill-paced. no idea what the intended theme was supposed to be. and there was no room to really enjoy the drama
According to Adam and Eddy, the theme was supposed to be redemption. The biggest problem, the main hurdle that they basically completely tripped over, was Neverland. Up until they got the rights, they were doing okay, as far as second seasons go, but once they did, they threw everything under the bus to be able to get the storyline they wanted. They cheapened the Bae/Rumpel reunion, got rid of Belle for Lacey, flip-flopped with Regina so many times it's not even funny, pushed aside the storylines of all the minor characters they promised we'd see more of... It was just a train-wreck. So, after all that, this season had better be worth it.
maridee42 said: agreed. season 1 was fairytale Maybury. season 2 was…i don’t even know.
It felt like a generic action movie with magic as the convenient deus ex machina.
I kinda always figured that the magic diamonds were just collectings of the ambient magic that spread through Storybrooke because Gold brought magic back. concentrated magic, basically.
and since it's confined to Storybrooke, that's probably either VERY highly dense magic, or there isn't a whole lot of it and there's going to have to be magic rationing in the future.
...but Emma would be different than standard human in contact with magic, since she was literally conceived through magic. Nostos + true love.
yeah, that and while she was conceived and gestated in FTL, she grew up in a land without any magic, so her body wouldn't have the level of thaumaturgic radiation her parents did at the same age, so she's really a unique case.
