I need to go on a full on infodump about Lissa and Mercer. Like they are so horrible for each other that it wraps back around into almost being good?

She likes to cut him, blades so sharp he doesn't feel it when it initially breaks the skin, and then the slow trace as she follows the lines of his body, nerves on fire. And then, when she's finished her art, she heals him, gentle kisses following the pain and leaving no trace there was ever a wound.

And its a torture, he has someone in his bed who is eager to know every inch of him, to prove his body is alive and able to feel pain and pleasure.

But only for her. She never leaves him a single mark, never any hint of proof that what they are within his manor is something he can keep in the light of day.

If he wants the pain, he has to bring her back. And he'll get her touch, her marks, for just that short time.

She would leave him a mark, if he begged her. She'll never tell him that. He has to break on his own, decide to give her that final ability to deny him. But if he does, there will be an elaborate looping L placed just so that when he leans against his desk, the edge will bump and burn.

She heals the marks he leaves on her, too. If he wants to claim her, they have to both be ready for what that means. And neither of them are, for a long time.

And boy, does THAT catch them both by surprise. When two so incredibly selfish individuals realize their notion of selfishness has grown to include another person. A self outside the self.

when i was a kid i was taught to be safe online. never give out my name, location, or any personally identifying information. i was told to immediately block people who ask for A/S/L. i was taught to always hide who i was, use a pseudonym, only share my email with people i absolutely trust.

and now im supposed to give my legal driver's license to every single porn website and use my email and sign up for ads and junk mail every time i want to read an article and agree to webcrawling ad tracking surveillance to do anything online anymore.

but yeah, its for kids safety. sure. i bet the panoption is much safer than the club penguin and nickelodeon dot com that i had as a kid. so glad we got rid of kid friendly spaces and in turn had to make the entire internet advertisement friendly. so glad we tore down that public park and replaced it with a strip mall and parking lot next to a police station
