I'm sure we all know the Marilyn Monroe quote, 'if you can't handle me at my worst, then you don't deserve me at my best'.

That quote is not something to live by.

I see a lot of people, especially young girls on social media saying this. Shaming friends and lovers for taking a step back or leaving when things got bad.

If you were dumped for selfish reasons or where having a bad day and your friends called you a downer for it, then yes the quote aplies. But some people's worst is too much for their loved ones to handle, and that's okay.

To any guys especially who feel like they have to stay with a girlfriend who is toxic, Abusive or is just never nice to be around, your mental health matters too.

Don't let people guilt trip you for not letting yourself fall into poor mental health.
