Pride Reads 2026, Day 10: The Vampire & His Pleasant Companions

I love this series so much!! Al is a half transformed vampire from American who accidentally ends up in Japan. By day he's an adorable bat, by night he's a handsome if hapless vampire. He lives with Akira, an aloof embalmer. Although Akira is strict with Al and scolds him, he does care for him. Al, who had previously considered himself straight, falls hard for Akira. Akira professes disinterest, but still allows Al to be close to him. They have a cute if unconventional arrangement, but Al is a danger magnet and always finds himself in peril.

In these volumes, Al and Akira go to America. It is a very accurate portrayal, especially all the guns 😂 While Al wants to spy on his human family, he ends up learning more about Akira's past.
