Varvara is a terrible friend, and kind of a bad person. She doesn’t actually care if she’s helping people, she just wants to protest and be part of the revolution because it’s quirky and rebellious, and yet she shames Marina for being rich and not doing enough, even though she herself isn’t actually helping either. And then she forces her to do things that could get them both killed, and is more excited about the destruction and death than the change it could bring. She isn’t trying to prevent more people from dying she just thinks the idea of being a part of a revolution is cool. I hate her.
