“Don’t stop.” Marion hissed, as her partner turned away from her in the middle of a kiss and glanced behind them towards the staircase framed by an archway. She sat up slightly on the couch and let out a frustrated sigh, hiking her dress up a little more to get them focused on the fact that they were supposed to be having a good time. Her hand kept a firm hold on their upper arm, making sure they couldn’t pull away too much. “My daughter is asleep, she’s not going to sneak up on us besides, her nanny is watching her. If you’re really so paranoid, then let’s go to my room.”

His eyes bug out like a scared rabbit and he holds out his other hand in protest. He was NOT ready.

“ ––––– Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait! ”

"What?” Marion stopped, shooting him a quick glare before she let out a small sigh. Her grasp on his shoulder never weakens. “Look, there are a few ways to go about this but if you really can’t stand the pain then you’ll have to knock yourself out with some whiskey.”

"Good morning, Helena. I’m Doctor Bowles How are you feeling?” Although Helena was supposed to be taken the military base and traded off first thing this morning, Marion had taken a different route. Paul wasn’t too pleased about that, but she had to take advantage of the situation while she could. She only had Helena for one day and then, as agreed upon, she’d let her be shipped off to some remote desert base. For now, she was firmly restrained to a bed and at Marion’s mercy. “The restraints will have to stay on so you don’t hurt yourself. You have quite a few scars already.”

Marion had gone to the bar to relax before heading home for the day but unfortunately for her, it seemed like work at followed her there. She turned her head to the side, hiding most of her face from Cosima as she walked towards the bar and ordered her drink. The plan was to get her drink and then sit at a table far away from the clone but when she saw the book Cosima was flipping through, the plan changed. She watched the clone flip through the book, her bracelets jingling with every movement. It was adorable to watch, she seemed to be entranced by what she was reading. She was even nerdier than Marion when she was a student.

With a small sigh, she thanked the bartender for the drink and then closed the short stretch between the two women. She set her glass down on the counter and then sat down on the bar stool. The bar stool swiveled as she moved so that her hips were parallel to the counter and she crossed her legs before tilting her head to the side. Her eyes sparkled in the dim light and a smile appeared on her face as she watched the clone.

“Red wine and Charles Darwin? Is this how you spend every wild Friday night?”

”O-Oh my god.” The sight of Marion’s younger bed mate was a bit of a shock. She let out a little laugh as she propped herself up on her elbows, still surveying the woman who was illuminated by the morning light that was starting to filter through the curtains and blinds. Beautiful, blonde, and completely naked. Marion only had her lace panties on. God, she hadn’t done something like this since college. She probably hadn’t gotten this drunk since college either. Only time would tell whether or not this drunken fling was a good idea.

“This is not what I expected but I have to say, it’s a pleasant surprise... We must have had quite a night together.” She couldn’t remember much from all the alcohol but the lack of clothes was telling enough.

"Charlotte, dear, Doctor Nealon called. You missed your appointment again and don’t use the ‘I forgot’ excuse again, it isn’t going to work.” Marion called out, placing her hands on her hips as she awaited Charlotte’s response. When her daughter didn’t respond, she stepped out into the entry hall where she had seen her walk by a few minutes ago. Her frown deepened and she stood there for a moment before speaking again. “Where are you? I just saw you walk in, come back out here so I can talk to you. I shouldn’t be having to lecture you on this, you’re a grown woman.”

“That’s not your decision to make, Mother” Christian snapped, eyes narrowing as he glared at her. He’d had enough of the way she spoke about and treated his boyfriend. No matter how much he loved her, respected her, he couldn’t sit and take it anymore “I’m 23, not twelve. You can’t tell me who I can date- I love him.”

“I don’t care how old you are, you are still my son and I will always care about you. Now you need to stop thinking about someone else for a minute and focus on your own safety and well-being.” Marion’s heels clicked against the marble floors as she closed the distance between them. “Everything you have done for him as put you in danger. One wrong move and his family will find you.”

Christian raised an eyebrow at Marion, narrowing his eyes a little as he quickly ended his phone call before his brow furrowed deeply.

“I didn’t leave it up” he muttered defensively, scowling a little more. He’d been in the middle of an important call with Ros, his number two, and her laughter on the other end of the phone was embarrassing “and please don’t do that when I’m on the phone.”

“It’s my job to annoy you when you’re with you friends. Now, please explain to me what other man in the house could’ve done that. I haven’t been lucky enough to have a date in over two months.” Marion said, putting her hands on her hips as she stared him down. She was a bit jealous that he had so many trustworthy friends but she’d never admit that and it wasn’t a concern of hers’ at the moment. “Were you talking to that cute girl with the sad hair?”
