the fact that mark bition was yelling stuff at the fix that was so full of self hatred yet no one caught that ambition had been corrupted by self loathing is soo interesting. because ambition and self loathing are not similiar concepts per se but look how easy it was for ambition to continue neglecting what's good for the self, how they tied their self-worth to their achievements, how they started to punish the big guy for failing to achieve their ever raising goals. look at how easy it must've been to blame the self for everything that went wrong, to start loathing yourself, "elias hodge is the big guy's biggest problem."

guys! i wrote a poem! for dice and diction (volume 2)!! writing is not something i’ve ever seriously done before so this was weird and difficult and also super fun. and posting this still feels incredibly nervewracking so be nice please! formatting didn’t work on here unfortunately so an image is what you’re getting. anyway i love mentopolis and i think the fix deserves some toxic yaoi and i think hank green would agree.

WAIT WAIT WAIT!!! I just realized that Mark Bition’s hit on Conrad came AFTER Norrell’s death! Which means that, even though Mark probably hated Conrad before (as did Dan Fucks), it was the KEY that pushed him over the edge and made him order the hit! Elias wasn’t trying to finally murder his conscious, his BOSS was so that Elias would continue working for them. Because he raised a MORAL objection! Which probably means Don Avaricce is being controlled by the Key too!!! That’s why they put a hit out on Conrad at the SAME TIME!
