My school life wasn't exactly linear... In my primary school I was a very good student, but my teenage years were not exactly happy... I went from being near the top of the class to near the bottom. I floundered. I did very poorly in my O levels and I spent most of my time staring out fo the window, wishing I wasn't there. [After school] I sort of stumbled around, [I did] all sorts of different things... It was quite late before I decided to 'turn round' so to speak, and go to university
