Here's the story... I signed a record deal with @atlanticrecords in 1986, making me the first rapper from @boston to do so. We released "Don't Treat Your Girly Like A Dog" featuring @latamrasworld and the single did ok. When I turned in the rest of the album, Atlantic's then president Sylvia Rhone said, "Spice, the world is not ready for some fucking Black pop rapper!" Fast forward 4 years later, and I wrote "Good Vibrations" for @markwahlberg plus donated 4 songs from my album, which #atlanticrecords basically shrugged off. #markymarkandthefunkybunch aka #markwahlberg sold 1 million copies of the 1st single "Good Vibrations", and 800,000 copies of the 2nd single "Wildside." Two back-to-back hits I wrote and produced respectively. The album sold 2 million copies. Mark is now making $10 million a movie, and I'm still loving and LIVING #hiphop while Sylvia's still PRETENDING to know but will NEVER understand our culture and music. I've added the link to my video in the first comment. Peace. https://www.instagram.com/p/CTFW_Fancba/?utm_medium=tumblr
