To say that the performance had been a disaster would be an understatement. Though Marlene’s croaking had been brilliant, being bitten by Marlene’s frog had not been. Dislocating her shoulder while catching that stray frog hadn’t been ideal, either.
Even still, when the commotion had all settled down, Lily found herself laughing as she fell in step with Marlene. Pomfrey had fixed her right up, and, though Lily had insisted she didn’t need a sling- she still got one, all protests ignored- her shoulder felt perfect. “Did you know frogs could bite?” she asked her best friend. “Because I really didn’t think they could. Do they have teeth? Oh, and, since it was your wayward frog who hurt me, you get to help me out of this stupid thing as soon as we’re back in the tower,” she added, gesturing to the offending sling trapping her arm.
