My arrival for NeerFahr, which is an art roleplay group over on DA. The premise is you take your character and drop it as is in the group’s world, and then progress its story/meet other characters by doing challenges. I MISSED ART GROUPS. A map about Gale’s early life, also featuring Thema’s characters Christoph and Lui, because crossovers are fun! In my mind’s eye Gale traveled more than this in his youth, but I simplified it to keypoints.
-- I don’t know where he was born or who his people were, but Scythia is a possibility. If so, his journey would have started near Planca’s olive tree. -- Anything before nine years old is blank for him, but he was likely a slave. He may have been transported about the Mediterranean. Basil found him boat-wrecked near Massalia (Southern France) and that’s where he grew up. It’s here that he also meets Planca. Look how far she traveled to bitch at him. She was committed. -- I’m not sure when or where he found his Hhoota whistle (yet), or when he marked his face with mud, but it’s somewhere between points A and B. -- Basil dies. Probably still a teenager, Gale leaves. Eventually, in his 20s, he travels North (by land or sea). He may have gone to other places, but to move his timeline forward, I’m looking North. -- He met Rory and his village. Bui happened. Then bad things happened. He took his first step toward becoming a god. -- He left Britain. At this point I like too many of the what ifs. He either traveled, or retraced his steps back to Scythia. Or both! Christoph and Lui are on the map for our own reference. The color coding is loosely based on groups of people.
Finished. I love these damn things. Warclaws belong to Guild Wars 2, Marmar belongs to me. I just felt like playing pretend in their sandbox for a while.

More of Gale’s interactions with gods have been bad than good, but he’s not really that territorial. They’d probably just get some side eye unless they start shit. I’ve been tempted to explain away Planca as a goddess. Nothing about her obsession with him really makes sense, and I recently decided that she taught him math. If that’s true, he had a rough first experience. His math is quite good though.
I had forgotten that I meant for Gale’s horses to be spawned from objects dumped into Bui’s pond (similar to how the Cubuin spawn from ritual weapons). I’m not sure if that’s what I want to do, but having this little reminder here will keep me thinking about it. It would be annoying trying to figure out what Alk’s item was and if Gale put it in there or if some guy before him did. I have theories, but have honestly worked very little on how he actually arrived in Rory’s village.
I did this to trrrry to illustrate how big Gale’s horse actually is. It’s not super big.
