More of Gale’s interactions with gods have been bad than good, but he’s not really that territorial. They’d probably just get some side eye unless they start shit. I’ve been tempted to explain away Planca as a goddess. Nothing about her obsession with him really makes sense, and I recently decided that she taught him math. If that’s true, he had a rough first experience. His math is quite good though.
Thema and I were talking about Gale and how gods usually come from their own pantheon. They have a crazy family. So where is Gale’s? Spoiler, I don’t think he has one, but it’s fun to think about the what ifs. Like, maybe he does and they’re all just forgotten and sleeping. Thema said he might even be going out of his way to not wake them up. However, I’m still leaning toward no because I like the fact that he’s a lonely drifter. The only exception I could see is Planca, who is inexplicably part of his life right now. Her one role is to non-fatally shit on his day.
Which sounds like something a family member would do.
Planca. She’s not blue, I was just playing with colors. Her teeth and claws are made of gold and her face is stretched. She’s a spiteful old lion who possessively haunts Gale. They had a weird friendship/not friendship when he was young and she was alive.
It came up today that Gale has a problem with olive trees. I’d been thinking about it lately, and it coincidentally came up. I’m not sure what lead to it, but he killed Planca. I DO think it’s likely she forced his hand. She bled to death at the base of a tree and has been haunting his ass ever since. Mostly it’s just an annoyance he has to live with, like a skin allergy. I suppose a weapon could be made- but it would have to be a very special weapon, and why go to the trouble when any old knife will make him bleed, you know? It’s just another one of his god quirks.
