Now I'm forever looking Across my endless world, My song, I sing it softly, Just trying to be heard. Outside, I hear a minefield, But in my mind are thoughts - Pictures of another place Where dreams are found and caught, And as I kick the gravel, I wonder, why not me? But then I see the rainbow, One day, I will be free. I think that life's not equal And that's just how it is. At night I burn a candle In my mind and make a wish. I wish for my tomorrow To bring sparkle to my days, And when I see the rainbow I know I'll find the way. I wonder, when I'm older, The person I might be - A teacher, or a doctor, People looking up to me. Beyond the clouds, life's hidden - I think that's for the best. Dreams, they keep you going, Reality, much less. So here I am, just waiting, My mind, I keep it strong. A rainbow's end is magic, Believing isn't wrong. I hold the good inside me, Forget about the rest, The sky, it holds the answers, But rainbows are the best.
