A Denver and Rio Grande passenger train stopped on tracks, and a freight train going in the opposite direction, in the Marshall Pass (Colorado, 1882 – 97).  This photo was taken in the region of the San Luis Valley and Sangre de Cristo Mountains.

Its striking feature is the lack of ruggedness that characterizes many of the other passes through the Rocky Mountains. Saguache County, Colorado. July 23, 1905.
