The Shrews, part of the Guosim, (Guerilla Union of Shrews in Mossflower). A group of bickering socialist creatures who often spend more time arguing over laws and regulations than the actual problem in hand. Dispite that, they have proved a good ally to the Redwall mice in most of the books and always help when needed. The author Brian Jacques, as I understand used his experience as a union rep in Liverpool when writing for the shrews. Martin the Warrior, Brian Jacques main character who founded the Redwall Abbey and even long after his death still influenced the events chronicled in the 22 books. I’ve drawn him with his famous sword. Later he would turn his back on the warrior way and dedicated his life to Abbey work. There is no religion in the Redwall books, just a occasional reference to an afterlife and The Dark forests.
