If anyone in the Marauders should have lived... It should have been Sirius. People would say - No, should be Remus because he has a child - But no, I stick with Sirius. Remus had a life - experienced falling in love, getting married and having a family in the arms of Nymphadora Tonks. Sirius was robbed of all those things - and just when he was planning to start a family with Harry, he was killed by bellatrix. Yes, I blame Harry for not opening the gift. That mirror could have saved them all the trouble and if Harry had decided to move in with Sirius, I think Dumbledore would oppose and convince them not to because its necessary for him to stay at the Dursleys - at least make a compromise like spend 50-50 with the Dursley’s and Sirius... Sirius would take him to the Weasleys and he can go with them to Hogwarts Express as a big black dog. Sirius Black’s death is the most unnecessary death in the saga in my honest opinion.
