You I realized that despite all the occasional racism and xenophobia, the races of Tamriel are pretty chill with each other compared to the races of Thedas and of The Continent.
I don’t know that it’s that they’re cool, or that simply the races are all pretty powerful, and that keeps everyone in check... sort of.
The Altmer stayed in Alinor while the others left, so besides Talos who literally sent a robotic god to stomp them into subjugation, they haven’t been challenged much, daedra not withstanding.
Ayleids enslaved the Cyro Nords, Chimer and Dwemer were at war until they found an equal enemy in the Nords who (rightfully) kicked the Snow elves out of Skyrim and then went on to create the first human empire through their own imperialism and subjugation before it was cool.
Redguards wiped out the last of the Nedes when they landed in Hammerfell, and also the Left Handed Elves, Dunmer enslaved Argonians, Khajiit, and whoever else they managed to nab, Dwemer made the Snow Elves go blind to subjugate them, Bosmer and Khajiit had some conflicts, but it’s kinda light in comparison, minus the cannibalism... also some conflict with the Nords but their king got wrecked by the wild hunt.
Altmer fight the maormer and have goblin slaves but who cares about goblins lol, and speaking of who cares, Reachmen hate and kill everyone and everyone hates and kills them in return.
Bretons are a product of slavery and rape by the Direnni elves, the Marukhati Selective hate elves so much they managed to literally break the Dragon (time) and cut out all ofAuri-El from the Time Dragon over soul and implant Lorkhan instead, this making Akatosh, ally to mankind.
Ah and of course the Redguards and Bretons tag team the Orcs on a regular basis.
And Talos fucked up everyone.
So I’d say it’s equally as brutal. That the orcs haven’t been completely wiped out yet I’d say is a testament to both their strength and stubbornness.
