Summary: Steve Rogers, the President of the United States and leader of the Avengers, is looking forward to meeting with the family of Issac Stark, the only connection he has to the friend who helped get him behind enemy lines and rescue Bucky from the clutches of the Red Skull. It’s a bit of a diplomatic nightmare to be sure, as Issac’s son had married the Princess of Monaco and Steve’s the sitting president, but Steve’s nothing if not determined to keep the memory of Issac alive through stories and memories to the people who knew him best, and he’s looking forward to getting to know the family Issac had always wanted.
But during his pseudo-holiday to the Principality of Monaco, he gets to know Issac’s grandson Tony, the heir presumptive to the Monégasque throne, a man so vibrant and expressive and brilliant that Steve can’t help but be sucked into his orbit. It doesn’t take long for Steve to fall in love – and expose the rotten underbelly of Howard Stark in the process – and despite the fact that a relationship with a foreign prince has to be an impossible fantasy for someone like Steve, perhaps there is a chance that he can have his happily ever after nonetheless.

The concept of this fic was inspired by this post at @imaginestevetony. Because I am a glutton for punishment and am in love with the concept, I think I'm just going to...write all of them at some point lmao if I don't end up writing a sequel for this fic. Thanks for the idea(s)!
