Enrico: I’m so useless.
Luciano: No, you’re not.
Luciano: You can be used as a bad example.
Sky: Matt eats like a pig. Ayesha: I dunno, pigs tend to chew. I'd say he eats more like a duck.
“Grace went into battle as Joan of Arc, and wove a wicked web as Anansi the Spider.” From “Amazing Grace” by Mary Hoffman and Caroline Binch. ~ #amazinggrace #maryhoffman #carolinebinch #dialbooksforyoungreaders #1991 #picturebook #kidlit #childrensfiction #picturebookillustration #picturebooks #picturebookstagram #childrensbook #kidlitart #picturebooksofinstagram https://www.instagram.com/p/Cbzvo1Zuv_Z/?utm_medium=tumblr
Childhood is a time of confusion and uncertainty, and it's so important to instill a sense of self and of confidence in our kids. So today, for World Mental Health Day, I'm sharing a book about that, about the damage that bullying, racism, gender discrimination, and above all placing limits on children's imaginations and sense of what they are capable of can do. Mary Hoffman's "Amazing Grace" (1991) has everything in it. It's a wonderfully readable story about a little girl with a big imagination, who loves to play make-believe. And when her class prepares to put on a play, Grace feels that this is her chance to shine ... until classmates drag her down with insistences that she is the "wrong" colour and gender to play the lead. It takes a reminder from her beloved grandmother that other people don't get to decide what she is capable of for Grace to see through the nonsense. ⚫ ⚫ #noodlenutsclassickidlit #noodlenutskidsbooks #bookstagraminthe6ix #amazinggrace #maryhoffman #carolinebinch #bullying #racism #genderdiscrimination #diversebooksforkids #diversebooks #weneeddiversebooks #diversitymatters #diversebooksmatter #endbullying #endracism #worldsmentalhealthday #worldmentalhealthday #supportkids #blackgirlsrock #blackchildrensbooks #blackkidsbooks #blackkids #representationmatters #teachersunited #raisingkindhumans #readingforgrowth #booksthatchangedmylife #goodbooksforchildren #libraryfind https://www.instagram.com/p/B3cs_run8Db/?igshid=1k45mqq4b8eys
Hey Stravaganza fans... Send me your favorite quotes from the Stravaganza books, including the book, who said them, and (if you can) the page number! Im working on a little project...
This literally made me cry
I shall miss being in Talia because it;'s a world I know so very well that I can just immerse myself in it every time there's a new book. The Italians have a good word for "goodbye." Arrivederci means "till we see each other again." That seems a good way to part. Arrivederci, Talia!
