Setting: Group date night at high school dance and Coco planned a flash dance with the four of them. Hope you enjoy!

Junioryear at Beacon High. First time she’d ever been asked to go to a dance for a date.She’d never expected to be asked by one person, let alone by three. It wasexciting shopping for a dress, doing her makeup, getting dinner. It waseverything she ever wanted.

               But as the car pulled up to theschool, she began to feel nervous.

               “I’m not ready.”

               "You can do this.“

               "Just stand tall. We’ve got this.”

               "We’re here with you.“

               "Just relax and the moment your song starts,show them what you got.”

               Velvet took a deep breath,pulling her hair into the side ponytail before following her team out to thedance floor. They’d spent a week preparing. All of them were dressed to match.Dark brown suits for Fox and Yatsuhashi, with a burnt orange and pine green tierespectively. Coco wore her favorite dress, chocolate brown silk that only hadthe right sleeve, the left sleeve replaced with a similarly colored glove, anda gold chain belt and matching shoes to round up the number. Velvet was dressedsimilarly, only her dress was a halter with a pair of matching gloves.

               They were dressed to the nines.

               It’d be a shame to let it go towaste, right?

               The music blared through theair, and most students began to clear a way once someone noticed Coco. Theymoved to the beat, shoulder back in an attempt to show confidence.

               There were gasps, whispers aseveryone realized Velvet was there. She’d always been unnoticed, unless it wasthe local troublemakers pulling on her hair.

               "Relax,“ Fox assured."Just think murder, and walk. You got this.”

               Velvet smiled, gently taking hishand as they made it to the center of the floor. Everyone had made a circlearound them to watch. The music switched to the song they’d danced to forweeks. In no time at all, the group was paired off.

               Sidestep, Velvet repeated mentally. Step one, two, two three. Twirl and pass Fox to Coco.

               Soon they fell into a rhythm,alternating pairs until about halfway through.

               Fall into line. Kick step. Kick step. Body roll. Fox’s solo move.

               The entire gymnasium wasspeechless. Out of the corner of her eye, Velvet caught Yatsu and Coco smilingfondly at her, with Yatsu giving a her a wink.

               That’s my cue!

               Velvet stepped forward and spun,clapping her hands once and transitioning into a jump. She closed her eyes andfell into the beat, hearing the sound of some of the underclassmen cheering hername as she kick flipped back into the line.

               Front kick. Body roll. Spin.

               Velvet felt herself beaming asthey paired off again. Yatsuhashi twirled her around as he pulled her close,dipping her slightly. She reached one hand behind her, lacing fingers with Cocoas the music began to decrescendo.

               The song came to a close, andthey held their poses for a solid minute. Silence was filled with only thesound of panting from the four dancers. Glancing at her partners, Velvet sawthey were all red in the face, with Fox sweating slightly.

               But the looks of joy on theirfaces was breathtaking.

               The students erupted in boisterousapplause as they stood up straight. Hand in hand, they took a bow beforeheading over to the punchbowl.

               "That was awesome!“Coco squealed. "You were so great Velvet!”

               "Well done!“ Foxpraised.

               "Spectacular,”Yatsuhashi agreed.

               "That was so much fun!“Velvet giggled. "I’ve never felt more alive! I mean…this feeling isjust…Augh, I’ve never felt anything like it!”

               "That’s confidence,“ Foxchuckled. 

                "It’s a nice look on you too!” Coco cheered.

               Velvet let out a contented sighas they sat down with their drinks, leaning against him as she regained controlof her breathing. Yatsuhashi draped an arm around the two of them on her left,while Coco snuggled up on her right.

               Best night ever.

So here's a fun one: My crush is my girlfriend. I saw her for the first time and was immediately smitten by her beauty, though I was too shy to compliment her. Fast forward a month, and I get hired at the place she works (where I first saw her). She offers me candy while I'm doing my paperwork, at which point I discover she's kind and funny and generous. She offered me a ride home that first day and after only a week we started dating, with a little help from my other partner (poly ftw)!

Knowledge was a great thing. It was as harmless as it was powerful, as infinite as it was limited. It was a beautiful thing, and it was bound up in history and legend alike.

When the gods had selected their relics, their choices had never been mistakes or unintentional. Each one was a gift to humanity, some more powerful than others, but every relic was a great thing to be cherished.

Creation, for the ability to birth things from nothing, almost as though at will.Destruction, for the ability to take away and wipe the slate clean without effort. Choice, for the ability to decide which way things were meant to go.And lastly, there was knowledge. To Salem and Ozpin both, it had always been the most tangible of the relics. Humanity had decided that knowledge was worth recording early on. They'd invented ways to preseve it, and as time had worn on, they'd even found ways to duplicate it en masse for the entire world to say. And when that hadn't been enough, humanity had built cathedrals to knowledge itself, and stacked them to the sky with books, scrolls, and tomes. Each one, containing something different. Even when the information was the same between books, they all contained different knowledge. Every different combination of words counted and was something to be cherished. Ozpin found themself thinking about Salem a lot whenever they found themself in the extensive collection at Beacon Academy. Beacon was home to one of the oldest collections in the four kingdoms, and was always adding more and more to its walls. Of course, there were works that had been all but purged from the collective consciousness, but it had been necessary, Ozpin had to tell themself. Most of those tomes had either been moved to more secure locations like the vault under the school, or they had been destroyed. Knowledge was a valuable thing, but it was too risky to let it get out and panic the people. Salem would gladly use information against them, Ozpin was sure of it. Their struggle had gone on for so long that both of them were well aware that the best way to win would be to somehow turn humanity against one or the other. And it was a tactic that had been kept off limits for a very long time. Ozpin had to wonder whether or not Salem had a library of her own, though. Would she walk through its halls, caressing the spines of every volume it held as though they were lovers? Would she purge that which was necessary when the time came? Did she have agents out in the world to collect more for her collection?Ozpin supposed that Salem didn't, if only because the most valuable works were never the ones that went missing. Nobody wanted old books that smelled bad and had to be handled as though they could fall apart at any second. They wanted books that would help with their classes, or would otherwise help them get by in their day to day life. The fact that the most important texts stayed close was a small relief, to Ozpin. There were so many great things about libraries. The knowledge that they held was infinite and important. Their halls were as hallowed as that of a church (Although, Ozpin suspected students got up to far fewer extracurricular activities in the churches,) and their importance would never change. They were places meant only to grow, and to aid in advancement. Salem would love libraries, for all that they entailed. The Salem that Ozpin remembered loved to read, and to sip tea as she read over the next legend before laughing off the parts that were so obviously untrue. She would turn every page as though it was delicate, and the fact that her skin matched the paper had been something to tease her about early on. Ozpin found that there was comfort in mimicry. They began to find themself doing the same things that Salem did, although their audience for the mocking of the incorrect stories was never as knowledgeable as Salem was.

If they had a book that they could have written letters to Salem in, Ozpin was sure that it would have been used often, especially if Salem would respond.

But such a thing didn’t exist.

And even if it did, Ozpin didn’t think that Salem would have an interest in expanding her library with it.

It was a heartbreak that Ozpin would ultimately bury in their own library, a church for knowledge and a tomb for love.

I was in a campaign once where adventurers were being hired for an excavation/ruins exploration. My thief pickpocketed the holy symbol off the cleric in line in front of her (who was another PC and was hired) and used it to convince the sponsors to hire her. Which. Probably isn’t the worst thing ever, but it was /really/ funny to just be like “Well, you should hire me because your cleric needs his holy symbol back.”
