She and her husband (the other guy) are both “Artists” but in NZ the have had literally one hit each and thats it, whereas the other two on the judging panel have had a lot more success.

just to add in some more: I mean I can see why they where picked, because they aren't just straight up and down pop, they are slightly more “alternative”. but yeah she was hella rude, she didn’t once say anything about his performance, so i am pleased they have been fired from the show and I am sure they will find two other kiwi judges who are more well known in NZ.
