The graveyard was dead â literally and figuratively. There were a million other things she would rather be doing with her time but she had obligations. On the other hand what was the use in patrolling a graveyard when nothing was happening ? Nothing was popping up and rising from the ground. No vampires , no nothing. Perhaps there were worse things she could be doing with her time but damn if this wasnât boring.Â
Buffyâs phone buzzed in her pocket â at least someone was going to distract her from the huge boring that was her life right now. Upon pulling out her phone and looking at it her whole body froze when she saw Masonâs name and face on her screen. It had been a few months since she last saw him. Still she doesnât understand where he had to go and why he couldnât at least call her while he was away , but that didnât matter to her right now. What did matter was that he contacted her. The message on her phone letting her know that he was back in town and wanted to see her as soon as possible. That was all she needed to see , patrolling the graveyard was null and void at that point.
As fast as her feet would take her she ran half cross town until she arrived at Masonâs house. In the past few months he had been away she came by here often just hoping that the lights would be on and he would be home but every single time she felt a little piece of her heart crumbled when she realized he was still gone. But not this time , as she drew closer she could see those lights illuminating the house. Her heart sped up in her chest and it wasnât because of the running she had done.Â
Just as her feet stop in front of the door it dawned on her that she hadnât even bothered to text a message back to him to let him know she was on the way. He did say as soon as possible and stopping to send him a message would have only slowed her down. Inhaling deeply she lifted her hand only to curl her fingers into her palm and began knocking on the door.
   â Mason .... â
