A shiny new Duel Runner sits in front of the house, with bodywork that makes it look like a wheeled lion. A pair of keys was thrown through the window at some point during the night. There's a business card amongst the shards of glass with a stylised 'M' emblazoned in silver ink. Someone's been through the bins, and all of the left socks are missing.
✿ It’s a Ferret’s birthday! ✿
It was all Mako could do to simply stare at the bike for several moments, one hand propped up on her hip while the other held a card bearing a familiar letter. Explaining the broken window had been easier said than done once Takeru’s grandparents had noticed; while she couldn’t blame them for being angry, she also couldn’t honestly explain it was a ‘gift’ - she thought, anyway - from a dramatic theater kid who’d tried having her killed within Link VRAINS for the better part of her time in Den City, either. ‘I think someone I used to know got dramatic, I’m sorry’ did little to explain it too, but… It’d been a decent fallback, at least, until she could replace the window.
“If they kick me out, it’s your fault, Masquerade,” came the soft mumble, the caramel haired girl’s shoulders slumping in defeat. She couldn’t say she didn’t like it, either… Maybe it was his way of making a pun at the fact she’d always been with Takeru, the certified fire lion himself? Whatever the reason…
“…Thank you. I’ll take good care of it, I promise.”
Provided she didn’t beat him over the head with it for how he’d delivered it, anyway.
