91. “You look beautiful in the moonlight.” --------------------------------------------------------

“They’re never going to fall asleep, are they?” Dark commented as he and Anti were sitting on the edge of the ship and watching Erin and Mason on the shore of Mad’s island. Erin was squealing loudly as he jumped around Mason, lightly splashing him with the knee-deep water and Mason decided it was best to scoop up the other Siren and spin around with him. 

“They’re young and in love.” Anti giggled.

“They’re only a few years younger than us,” Dark said, now seeing Mason run back to the sand with Erin chasing him, clearly running slowly and letting Erin catch up easily so Mason could catch him and they both ‘fell’ down. 

“Like I said, young and in love.” Anti clicked his tongue and hummed with a shimmy of his shoulders when Mason and Erin shared a quick kiss. 

“Very.” Dark glanced up at the full moon before looking at Anti. “You look beautiful in the moonlight.”

“What?” Anti stiffened and he could his face growing warm. 

“Uh, y-yeah.” Dark cleared his throat. Despite the two being mates, they were still a little awkward with each other. “Your scales reflect the light and it shines on your face.” Dark reached out towards Anti’s face and gently rubbed his thumb on Anti’s cheek. “It makes that little bit of blue in your eyes stand out. It’s easy to forget that your eyes aren’t a pure green but the moonlight brings out the unique beauty in them.” Anti placed his hand on top of Dark’s. 

“Since when did you get all smooth?” Anti pressed a kiss to Dark’s palm. 

“I have a strong desire to run off in embarrassment, but I think this moon is affecting me.” Dark stepped so that his and Anti’s chests were almost touching. 

“I’ll be sure to send her a thank you letter.” Anti used his free hand to place it on the back of Dark’s head and pull him into a kiss.

1. “I’ll never forget you.” -----------------------------

“Are you okay?” Erin asked as he and Mason came out of the ocean, walking in mid-shin deep water. 

“Yeah, it’s gett a little better.” Mason smiled and took Erin’s hand into his own. “And as long as you’re with me, I’ll always be fine.” Erin smiled back and giggled, squeezing his hand back.

“Mason? Erin?” Daniel was sitting in his usual chair, facing the ocean. He slowly stood up in disbelief, eyes going wide when he knew he was right. “Mason! Erin!” 

“Daniel!” Mason and Erin yelled back, all three taking off towards each other. Erin was faster than Mason and he was caught in a tight hug by Daniel and when Mason caught up, he wrapped his arms around both of them. 

“You’re back! I can’t believe you’re back!” Daniel didn’t care about the tears flowing down his cheeks. 

“You remember us!” Erin squealed. “I was worried we were gone for too long.” 

“I’ll never forget you,” Daniel said. “I could never forget you.” Daniel flashed a playful smirk. “I saw that you two were holding hands? Something I miss?” 

“Oh, we-we uh…” Mason cleared his throat and rubbed at his neck. 

“We’re mates!” Erin happily cheered. “We even kissed.” He added in a softer voice. 

“You kissed? How scandalous.” Daniel teased. “And it took you two long enough, this should have happened forever ago.” 

“You’re right.” Mason chuckled. 

“I’m guessing that the aquarium place is no more?” Daniel asked.

“It’s ashes.” Mason started to laugh. 

“We made some friends and they helped,” Erin added. 

“I need the full story. I’ll get started on dinner and you can catch me up on everything.” Daniel headed for the house, peeking over his shoulder to make sure Mason and Erin were following and no longer wanting them to ever be out of his sight again...to a degree of course. Mates need their privacy sometimes. -------------------------------------------

Taken Away From Home

“You can’t match my speed!” Erin laughed as he ran around the yard, Mason hot on his heels. Mason used that moment to go just a little faster and he caught Erin, wrapping his arms around his waist and lifting him up into the air. 

“What was that about not matching your speed?” Mason chuckled and Erin struggled in his hold. 

“Alright, alright. You win.” Erin crossed his arm in a pout. Mason chuckled again and placed Erin down. 

“I think it might almost be time for dinner,” Mason said after looking at the sun. 

“I’ll race you!” Erin gave Mason a light slap on the arm before taking off. He stopped about halfway and looked at Mason, tilting his head when Mason was still where he was. Erin didn’t want to race if Mason wasn’t even going to try. Mason had a large smirk on his lips and he took a large step. Erin quickly caught on and he took a step as well. Mason took another and Erin did the same. Mason then took a step back and Erin responded by taking a step towards him The two were laughing at their little dance. Their laughter was cut short by a large crash coming from the house. 

“Daniel!” They both shouted and ran. 

Mason watched Erin go into the house first and he hated that Erin was in there without him, what if there was danger. He did not want Erin to get hurt. Mason fumbled over the step into the house from moving so fast. Mason quickly scanned the room. There were several other humans crowding around, two of them were talking with Daniel, four others were staring at Mason and the last three were with Erin. Two of them were holding him and the other was trying to put a strang looking strap around his neck. 

“Let. Him. Go!” Mason screamed, unaware of how loud and distorted his voice became. Mason lunged at the human with the strap and he blindly slashed his claws across their throat. Mason didn’t hear the screams, he didn’t feel the blood gushing onto his body, he knew nothing but rage and he had to fight. 

“Shoot him! Shoot him!” One of the humans screamed as Mason went after one of the humans holding Erin, the second one not having time to even blink before Mason was on him as well. 

“Ah!” Erin’s cry of pain was the only thing able to get through Mason’s fogged mind. Mason saw that something was sticking out of Erin’s stomach. There was a strange red feather on the end of it and whatever it was, caused Erin to collapse. 

“Erin!” Mason scrambled to Erin and pulled out the strange feathered item. “Erin, Erin, Erin!” Mason was kneeling down and held Erin in his arms.

“T-Tired…” Erin croaked out. “So...tired.” 

“Stay with me, alright, stay awake. Stay-” Mason hissed when he felt a sharp stinging in his arm. He saw that the strange feathered item had hit him as well. “E-Erin.” Mason felt a sudden wave of exhaustion take over. He could barely stay up on his own. Mason could move just enough to cover Erin with his body, holding his head up and hissing at the other humans. 

“You can’t do this!” Daniel shoved away one of the humans that was close to him. “They didn’t do anything wrong!”

“They need to be locked away.” Another human said. 

“Don’t hurt them. Don’t hurt them, please!” Daniel begged. “They’re good, I swear! I’ve known them since they were pups and they’ve known me since I was a kid.” 

“We aren’t going to kill them.” The human stated, crossing his arms. “We’re going to study them, to learn how they work. Knowledge is the most powerful weapon against these things.” 

“And some strong tranquilizer helps.” A different human chuckled, aiming a weapon with an opening at the end towards Mason. Mason hissed again and only felt another sharp prick before everything went dark.

Ok so you said feel free, so I’m gonna go off for a sec with ideas in your ask box: Erin and Mason coming into contact with something they’re not familiar with? Maybe baby Erin and Mason discovering some land-dwelling creature, and having no clue what to make of it??

Mason was floating in the center of the pool he and Erin have been spending the past few weeks mostly living in. The loss of their pod still fresh but the kindness from a man named David, who had taken them in, helped them get through the days.

“Hi.” Erin greeting something got Mason to look up. He saw Erin at the end of the pool, reaching out towards something Mason couldn’t see. Mason swam over and saw that Erin was talking to a crab. Mason stayed mostly hidden as he stared at the crab, they’ve only seen them dead when their mothers would give them as a snack. Erin poked at the top of the crab and pulled his hand away, giggling when the crab tried to pinch him. 

“Erin, no.” Mason took Erin’s arm and hugged it to his chest. “Not safe.” 

“He want play,” Erin said and used his free hand to reach out again. “Ow!” Erin cried out when the crab got him this time. 

“Meanie!” Mason immediately reacted by taking a fist and slamming it down on top of the crab, it’s shell crunching under his hand and no longer moving. Erin was fully crying at this point and Mason had pulled him into a hug. 

“What’s happening out here?” David and his son Daniel came out, heading for where Mason and Erin were. David was trying his best not to grimace and Daniel had his hands over his heads, Erin’s wails echoing a bit. 

“Meanie,” Mason stated, pointing at the now dead crab as Erin kept crying. 

“I’m guessing your friend got pinched?” The man asked, scooping up the crab. “How ‘bout I cook this up and you can eat ‘em up in revenge?” 

“Yeah!” Mason eagerly nodded his head. 

“Lemme show you how to make some good crab legs, Daniel.” David gave Daniel a pat on the back. 

“Moment please.” Daniel went to the edge of the pool and knelt down, rubbing the top of Erin’s head. “It okay. Meanie crab gone,” Daniel smiled when Erin stopped crying and just sniffed. “We make food!” 

“Food?” Erin used a hand to rub at his eye. “Food good.” 

“Food really really really good if dad make it.” Daniel giggled. “We be back!” Daniel popped up to his feet and rushed back to David. David chuckled and walked back into the house with his son. 

“Crab meanie,” Erin stated with a pout. 

“Crab meanie,” Mason said in agreement. “But crab no more. I keep you safe.” Mason puffed out his chest and Erin was now laughing. 

“You keep me safe.” Erin nodded. “And I keep you fun.” Erin splashed some water and Mason and swam off. “Catch me!” 

“Cheater!” Mason squealed happily and swam off as well.

If you’re up to it, and are not saving that for like the main story, could you write a blurb of Mason and Erin interacting with some of our Siren friends...?

“Bap, bap, bap.” Erin made sounds with each soft tap on Mason’s stomach with his hands. Mason just stayed where he was, laying on the far end of the shore and letting Erin play his game. He opened one eye and smiled when he saw how entranced Erin was in his soft ‘music-making’. Mason reached out with a hand and tucked some loose hair behind Erin’s ear, not wanting it to get into Erin’s eyes. Erin hummed in question and flashed a bright smile before moving up and quickly slapping his hands against Mason’s chest. 

“You little shit.” Mason laughed, catching Erin’s hands. 

“Does that tickle?” Erin asked with a giggle. 

“Let me show you.” Mason rolled them over, sitting on Erin’s lap and slapping at his chest. 

“Oh no! Oh no!” Erin squealed as he weakly fought back.

“Are we interrupting?” A voice asked behind Mason. 

“Hi, guys!” Erin greeted loudly as Mason got off of him. “How have you been?” 

“We were just around and decided to pop by,” Chase said as he and the rest of his pod waited for permission to fully come into the land. 

“Come on in,” Mason said and he watched as Robbie immediately took off and Erin jumped to his feet.

“I learned a new trick!” Robbie said, bouncing on his own feet. 

“You have to show me!” Erin clapped his hands and the two took off to the pool. 

“I think that’s the fastest they’ve started playing.” Marvin chuckled as he went over and sat with Mason, the rest of the pod going to the pool as well. 

“Erin loves the company,” Mason said, raking his hands through the sand as he watched. 

“And you don’t?” Marvin asked.

“I’ll be blunt in saying that Erin and Daniel are all the company I really need but it’s nice to see you guys every now and again.” Mason chuckled when Erin tried to copy what Robbie was doing and just barely did it. 

“When are you going to court him?” Marvin grinned when Mason went stiff and his cheeks flushed.

“I-I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Mason cleared his throat. 

“You know what I’m talking about.” Marvin nudged Mason with an elbow. “I can see the way you look at him, how much you love talking about him,” Marvin was now watching Chase as he threw Anti over his shoulder and was running, Robbie and Erin chasing them while Henrik and JJ were laughing. “It reminds me a lot of before me and Chase became mates.” 

“We’re just...friends.” Mason was now digging his toes into the sand. 

“So were me and Chase.” Marvin gently patted Mason’s shoulder. “You’re like how I was. I didn’t know I loved Chase for a while but I knew I never wanted to be away from him.” 

“I can’t do that to him,” Mason said softly. 

“Can’t do what?” 

“Mates are supposed to protect each other. I can’t even go into the ocean, how am I going to keep him safe?” Mason curled up and hugged his knees. 

“When we first met you two, you were ready to fight all of us until you were sure we were good people. You kept Erin behind you and away from potential danger. I don’t think you need to worry about not being brave enough for him.” Marvin grunted as he got up. “I also can tell that Erin doesn’t care about that. He wouldn’t have stayed here with you if he did.” Marvin held out a hand towards Mason. “Let’s go join the others before they start yelling at us.” 

“Do you really mean that? That he doesn’t care about my fear?” Mason asked.

“Absolutely.” Marvin smiled. Mason smiled back and took Marvin’s offered hand. They rushed over to the group; Mason jumped into the pool between Robbie and Erin while Marvin went between Henrik and Chase. Mason grabbed Erin and lifted him into the air before letting himself fall and taking Erin down under the water with him. Chase laughed as Marvin jumped on his back and kissed his cheek before whispering into his ear, catching him up real quick as Erin and Mason started splashing each other.

Maybe a snapshot of Erin not being able to talk coherently, n just having a word spasm (Bc we know that trait carries over from Ethan,) and it just sends Mason and Erin both into this fit of giggles and laughs

“I know these taste good cause I used dad’s recipe,” Daniel said as he passed a plate of cooked crab to Mason. 

“His recipe was just a lot of butter.” Mason chuckled, placing some pieces on his plate. 

“Never underestimate the power of butter.” Daniel grabbed a bowl of green beans. 

“Ah yes, the unlimited power of butter.” Erin giggled as he took the plate of crab from Mason. “Super butter.” He added in a whisper that got all of them to laugh. 

“I’m just imagining a square of butter flying through the air.” Daniel picked up his fork. 

“As it flies it just sizzles,” Mason added, the last word becoming a deep giggle. 

“Oh! I wanna try eating with a fuck!” Erin’s sudden squeak got Mason and Daniel to both look at him. 

“You what?” Mason asked. 

“I wanna use a fuck,” Erin said, unaware of what he was saying. “Can you give me a fuck, Mason?” 

“Hah!” Daniel slapped at the table as he laughed while Mason went red in the face. 

“I just want a fuck.” Erin pouted. 

“You-You heard him, Mason.” Daniel was trying to breathe. “He’s-He’s ask-asking for it.” 

“It’s just a fuck.” Erin reached over Mason and grabbed one of the spare forks. “A fuck.” 

“That’s a fork.” Mason croaked out. 

“That’s what I’ve been saying.” Erin huffed. 

“You-You haven’t been.” Mason rubbed his face, trying to make his blush go away. 

“You’ve been saying ‘fuck’, Erin,” Daniel said, patting Mason’s arm.

“I-” Erin took a second as everything clicked. “I’ve been saying-” Erin burst out in laughter. 

“I quit.” Mason groaned, fully hiding his face with his hands. “I quit everything.” 

“Aw, but Mason.” Daniel rubbed Mason’s back. “You still gotta give Erin his fuck.” He started laughing again as Mason groaned again and started sliding down his seat, yelping when he went too low, slipped and ended up on the ground. There was a pause before all three of them were now laughing loudly together.

Mason and Erin deserve some lovin before we meet them in the Siren Tales Trilogy

Mason starting to court Erin would be extra sweet cause he would have to at least wade a bit into the ocean to find the shells. And the shells might not be as nice as usual courting shells but Erin loves them all the same cause Mason had to fight his fear to get them.

I couldn’t help myself!

I have a fixation with these boys and I love them so much!

Mason stood at the end of the shore, the water just barely covering his feet. He was trying to will his heart to calm down. Mason thickly swallowed and took a small step deeper into the water, his foot now fully submerged. 

He’s swam in there before for Erin. He’s been in there and everything was fine. He can do it again. He’s going to do this again for Erin and for himself. Mason wanted to do this and he wanted to do this right. 

“That’s really small.” Mason pulled out a shell from the sand, the water mid-shin. He was using his focus on searching to hide his fear as he went just a little deeper into the water, it now just below his knees. “Better...kind of.” Mason took out another shell. Maybe if he had a collection it’ll make up for the lack of size. 

“Mason!” Erin’s squeal got Mason to hug the handful of shells to his chest as he heard splashing. “You’re in the ocean!” Erin was jumping as he went in front of Mason, eyes going wide when he saw what Mason was holding. “You’re...collecting shells?” 

“I...I…” Mason held the shells out towards Erin. 

“Yes! Yes! Yes!” Erin leaped towards Mason, making Mason drop the shells in order to catch Erin. “We’re mates! We’re mates!” Erin wrapped his arms around Mason and hugged him tightly. 

“I’m pretty sure courting is supposed to take more time.” Mason weakly laughed. 

“We’ve spent enough time.” Erin happily hummed. “We can finally do all the things mates get to do. We can cuddle more and hold hands and kiss and-” Erin’s cheeks suddenly went red and he hid his face in Mason’s chest, giggling. Mason easily caught on to the implication and went red as well. Mason just chuckled and hugged Erin back. “Can we kiss?” Erin asked, looking up at Mason.

“Y-Yeah.” Mason gently placed a hand on Erin’s cheek before leaning in and pressing their lips together. It only took a moment before they both moved closer into the kiss and clung to each other, this kiss been literal years in the making. 

“Finally!” Daniel’s shout from his house got Mason and Erin to both yelp in shock. “Took you two long enough!” 

“I wanna kiss again.” Erin giggled, wiggling in Mason’s arms. 

“Okay.” Mason grinned and pulled Erin right back in. 

“I’ll start making a cake.” Daniel laughed and went back into the house.
