In the resolution, Italian senators noted that in 1932-1933, the USSR, led by Joseph Stalin, "deliberately provoked famine, which caused millions of deaths, mainly peasants and small landowners", among the civilian population of Ukraine.
"The memory of the Holodomor and Soviet[Russian] crimes against the Ukrainian people is becoming even more important today in the light of the Russian invasion and a new attempt to erase Ukrainian national identity", the document writes(..)
P.S. Very good news! However, I have only one question: Why so late? The crimes of mass repressions committed by the Soviet Union's communists were known at the time they were committed, but the rest of the world remained silent and pretended that nothing was happening...!
Even during the Cold War, Western politicians did business with the Soviet Union... Look at how easily the Soviet regime obtained the Zhiguli/Lada production technology and then promoted the economic achievements of the repressive Soviet regime to the world by selling the Lada...
In essence, the West saved the Soviet Union's economy from total collapse all along...
