Charles Hornemann - Master Of Time (Scenic Flight) [1988]
Every time we drove by this place I kept thinking, why does it look so familiar?
Well...
The Time Is Now
Summary: What to do when the guy who banished your grandfather and his brother comes up to you when you're buying shoes?
A/N Alright wrote another fic for Who Wrote That for the Writer's of Destiny server, this time for the prompt 'Time isn't the only thing that wears out." Had a lot of fun working with the master of time! Griffin headcanon, and will totally write more for it.

Someone recently brought it up to me that they were curious what Clockwork would look like in my Eldritch AU and I felt inspired so here you go! I wanted him to seem truly ancient which is why I went for a sundial/hour glass aesthetic. I imagine his tower even looks like a giant hour glass too with the Sands of Time eternally sifting though the glass with gears rotating through it. His beard and spectral tail are also sand-like and make it seem as if Clockwork is crumbling into dust which actually isn't the case at all. And lastly, instead of a staff Clockwork uses the sun dial in his chest to manipulate time.
Clockwork still uses gear portals of course to show visions of the past, present, and future, but like I said I imagine apart from the main structure the rest of the scenery is in constant motion. It shows cities being built, abandoned, then lost to time until they actually do turn to dust because that's the source of the tower's power. Whenever something is entirely forgotten by the world be it a place, a language, a story, a person, and so on those memories become part of the Sands of Time that Clockwork watches over...
Basically it looks a lot like Eris's domain in the Sinbad movie except for the fact its all inside of a giant hour glass with tons of gears churning the sand.
