Math kicked my ass...

So I took on a substitute teacher gig again today, and it’s for a math teacher. One of the classes she does is at a Learning Center (basically where the students go to get help with math and science). I had a kid come in, one who remembers me from earlier in the year/last year and he asked for math help.

It was then that I realized I haven’t done actual math in a little over six years.

I recognized the problems (standard form) but could not for the life of me figure out how the fuck to start.

I had to google what a polynomial was.

I HAD TO GOOGLE WHAT A POLYNOMIAL WAS. I WAS DOING AP CALCULUS MY SENIOR YEAR OF HIGH SCHOOL. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN EASY.

Unfortunately, I wasn’t much help... the kid thanked me anyway. He’s a good kid.

I wish him luck in math.

I really hate trying really hard at something and not understanding it and automatically, that means I'm not doing my best. I have the mind of a child and I understand things better if someone were to explain something in a way that a 5-year old understand it. Long story short, I really hate math and I feel extremely discouraged by it and I want to drop the class but if I go to my counselor, they're gonna think I only want to drop because I'm failing the class.
