pros of having an old cat that loves me: she has the confidence and calm of a buddhist monk. she trusts me completely, which means I can maneuver her however I want. I just used a massage gun on her back and she fucking loved it. I put a silly bunny hat on her.
cons of having an old cat that loves me: she's more consistent and organized than I am by a long shot, and by god if I don't give her a daily half hour of cuddles at 8 PM sharp I better be ready to deal with a howler monkey right outside my bedroom door.
HAPPY KAIMAN OF JOY AND PROSPERITY ‼️
Gorillaz' album Humanz is such a fucking fascinating glimpse into the world of music as a product. It's an incredible comeback album, a strident and undeterred artistic proposal bringing back the band's political commentary in full force, this time not limited to the scope of the interests of a few members of the collective but fully open to the voices of their collaborators; it's multiple musicians, rappers and singers joining together in a beautiful, wailing, surreal, compelling cacophony, which is unashamedly entrenched in the political moment; it's the comeback of the zombie hip-hop flag the band waved during its earlier years, this time drenched in the decadence of modern celebrity; it's a full display of the range of visual component jamie hewlett, who experiments to create wild, funny, grotesque and fascinating mixed media illustrations; it's a showcase of multiple genres, countries and sounds, from historical voices to underground newcomers; it's opinionated, varied, powerful and conflicting, with its tone ranging from naive hope to satirical cynicism without ever losing sight of its thematic throughline. The longest version of the album is 34 tracks long, featuring songs in multiple languages. And all that for people to just shrug and say it's the worst album because it doesn't "sound like gorillaz". Cool take, guy who's never listened to this band outside of apple commercials. Would you like to say something racist now since you're here.
Been thinking about ways to overcome my fear of flying and I hate that my first idea was "develop a deep desire to fuck planes"
