Courting

Fact 49: If someone wanted to become mates with another they would court them. It used to be that you would announce to them (and sometimes their family) that you are going to court them before you start, but the rules have loosened over the years so it’s not as big of a deal, although it’s still respectful to announce first.
After you declare your intent you start the courting process. This means frequently giving gifts, physical affection and your full attention to your intended mate for as long as it takes to either get rejected or accepted as their mate. Some very special gifts include:
Collars
non-rubber wristbands
scented gifts
The message of these gifts can be appealing or insulting depending on your recipient so be cautious with gifts of this nature.
Fact 50: People used to court then mate but dating and marriage has been replacing this. Some people see courting and dating as separate, some see dating as lengthened courting. Some people choose to date and some people choose to court/be courted. It depends on the person’s personal culture, beliefs and wants.
Courting is still very much a thing though.
