Doing a multi-vocal mashup is often a way to paper over the structural differences between the songs involved.

In this case, no matter how great Spice Girls sound over that Dance Man arrangement, it is impossible for me to do a full one-way mashup with that configuration, due to the total lack of a pre-chorus in Wannabe. I had to pilfer the second verse to use for the first round, which is why I did the reverse configuration for the second verse, because I needed the filler.

So, those gigantic megamashups are actually easier to do in many cases than the one-ways, because you can simply cherry-pick the short segments that fit well and ignore the rest, moving on to the next vocal track as necessary.
