we see dallas go through different emotions throughout the movie, and people pick and pick on characterizing him. But in my defense any emotion leads dallas to bargaining/anger, heavy emotions. Just him flirting with a girl easily made him get aggressive, manhandling, and firey. Even if Dallas is happy he can’t control himself.

When dallas was breaking down in the hospital you can see him feel sadness, but then it immediately turns into anger, and we know from the book descriptions that he wasn’t playing a tough act, he naturally responded in violence and anger. He’s stuck with it.

Dallas has zero self control and it is saddening when people say he’s a “bad person” I mean he is, but not in the way people are saying he is. His whole life had him react naturally to different emotions with anger in the end, even if he didn’t mean it. But even if he did not mean it, he then will make himself mean it and that’s where it gets out of control for him.

You can’t fix him, you can make him happy, feel joy but in the long way he’s just gonna get angry and violent.

DALLAS WINSTON was a man of few words, but his eyes spoke volumes. They were a piercing shade of blue, so cold they could make the hottest oklahoma day feel like a frosty winter morning. When he looked at you, it was as if he could see straight through to your soul, uncovering every secret you'd ever kept hidden. Most folks found it unsettling, but to his girlfriend, it was a strange kind of comfort.

Sitting cross-legged on the bed, she watched him intently as they talked, her eyes tracing the sharp lines of his face, the firm set of his jaw, and finally resting on those icy blues. "Dallas," she said, her voice a soft caress, "I've never noticed before, but your eyes are so..." She paused, searching for the right words, "intense."

He looked at her, his gaze never wavering from hers. A corner of his mouth tugged up into a smirk, the only indication that he might have found her observation amusing. "Intense, huh?" he drawled, his voice a smooth blend of gravel and molasses. "Guess that's one way to put it."

Her heart fluttered at the sound of his voice, low and rough, like a whisper of the prairie wind. She leaned into him, her hand finding its way to the nape of his neck, and she pulled him closer. Their eyes locked as she brought her lips to his in a soft, lingering kiss. When she pulled away, she playfully bit her bottom lip and whispered, "Well, they certainly do make a girl feel... seen."

The smirk grew wider on Dallas' face, and his icy blue eyes glinted with mischief. He chuckled, a warm, rumbling sound that seemed to fill the room and dispel the chill that his gaze usually brought. He leaned over her, his body a wall of warmth and strength, and she felt his breath, a gentle caress, on her neck. He trailed kisses along her collarbone, her skin prickling with every touch, and she knew he was watching her every reaction, his eyes never leaving hers.
