Rebecca Sugar, releasing Steven Universe Future episodes 9 & 10 and damn well knowing what she’s doing:
The Fandom, upon watching Steven Universe Future E9 and E10:
Projector @ LFF: Mangrove (Small Axe) / Honeymood / Herself (REVIEWS)
This is Matthew Buck, one of my favorite small-time reviewers on Youtube who has recently been seriously seeing his video’s metrics take a hit thanks to not having enough big-name movies to get promoted by the algorithm. He’s been doing some excellent coverage of the (virtual) London Film Festival, which has been premiering some really interesting-looking films.
I would love it if you checked out this video as well as his others and maybe gave them a share? The pandemic has really done a number on the movie scene, and I don’t want small critics disappearing in the interim.
This is me, too. I’ve got a whole bunch of ticket passes sitting unused in a drawer (because I had a boss that thought giving me one every once in a while made up for only paying me $8/hour; it did not) but we’re nowhere near ready to open cinemas. Studios like WB are going to have to decide whether they want to just push their films back to 2021 or do a hybrid release of VOD in Covid-affected areas and theater release in areas that are Covid free. Personally, if the film is good enough, I’d probably re-watch it in a re-release once things are safe again.
So, as I was trying to put my thoughts into words about Bohemian Rhapsody, I watched a couple of reviews online. Matthew Buck's review pretty much covers exactly how I feel.
Conventional. That was the word I was searching for the entire drive home. And when I heard it in the review, I actually said "thank you!"...because that's a great way to describe the movie. It's a conventional movie about an unconventional band and front man.
Rami Malek and the Live Aid sequence are worth the price of a ticket, though.

DENVER— A federal jury has ruled against a Colorado couple who claimed that a marijuana growing operation hurt the value of their property with sweeping mountain views in a case that was closely watched by the U.S. cannabis industry.
Jurors reached their verdict in Denver after deliberating for about half a day, The Colorado Sun reported Wednesday.
It was the first time a jury considered a…

Are you aware that the song you gave for 7 is also the former theme song for Mathew Buck's Bad Movie Beatdown?
Where do you think I heard it from?
You’ll be roaring with laughter at this awful horror film! Season 3, Episode 29.
This movie exists.
