Tales of the Teen Titans #46 (1984) by George Pérez & Marv Wolfman
hi! do cyborg's parents show up a lot in the comics? or are they mentioned a lot? ik he has a lot of baggage with his dad, but what about his mom or grandparents? i'm researching his backstory and i cant seem to find any primary sources about this, whether its pre/post crisis or post new 52. if u could reference or post some i'd really appreciate it, thank you!! :')
Well, y'see, Vic's mom died in the accident that turned Vic into what he is now. Vic's dad ended up dying from the long-term effects of radiation poisoning in The New Teen Titans Vol. 1 #7 (just go read this issue because it's Vic's origin story). Sooo, yeah, no they don't show up much based on my knowledge of pre-Flashpoint events. You can catch a few more glimpses of his mom and dad in the 2015 Cyborg run and the Rebirth Cyborg run though.
Vic's grandparents pop up every now and then, especially when Vic is hurt. You can see them in these issues:
Tales of the Teen Titans
The New Teen Titans Vol. 2
The New Titans
Vic hearing some necessary truths from his grandma [#46]
So until the next reprint trade comes out and I can continue reading chronologically, issue 50 is not a bad place to take a break on.
And now of course, it’s time for ten of my favorite moments/panels from issues 45-50. No particular order and issue numbers in the captions.
It took a lot of cutting down to fit this into ten, since there is SO MUCH GOOD in issue 50 and the buildup, but I’m gonna have to include an honorable mention from Donna and Terry’s wedding, because holy wow all those characters.

Bygone Biographies of Forgotten Friends
Tucker and Maude Stone
Tucker and Maude Stone are the paternal grandparents of Victor Stone, aka Cyborg. Tucker is an Vietnam veteran who sung and danced on stage while Maude was an escape artist, both in a Vaudeville act.
Because of their travels while their progeny were scientists, they were estranged from Victor in particular. This isn't helped by the fact that they missed their son's funeral and do not approve of Victor's superhero activities. Nevertheless, they still give Victor the nickname 'Corky' and visit him, rebuilding their relationship.
Need to do a photoset of Vic's grandparents. I love that they call him Corky.
