One can not read this papier by #VanessaFriedman and stay put. I needed to reply to her. “Frankly you are just mean to Hedi [Slimane]. Your tone is condescendingly cold-abrasive. Are you reporting or bashing him? Lots of his peers have done worse and reducing his creative legacy to just a commercial success is unbecoming. Plus the house is still surfing on his wave, yes, more than a year layer. @NYTimesFashion are better. Frankly you are just mean to Hedi. Are you reporting or bashing him? We went to the same show @NYFW, not naming the designer, out of respect; everyone agreed it was wow only to read your negative review. You are frustrated.” I always saw some journalists wanting to be the star of the show. It’s about the designers not you. It’s clearly unethical and against the purpose of journalism reporting, confusing critique and cold pen-bashing with less than the weakest arguments to construct their opinions. If you go on #HediSlimane website, you will see how his creative journey was documented since 1999, coherently with every direction he took at Dior Homme and Saint Laurent. Hedi is marées hautes. Hedi is marées basses. He comes. He goes. No teasing. No nothing. Is everyone asking in the same (demeaning) manner where is @RiccardoTisci17 in his journey? We all want to know of course. I want to know. We miss Riccardo. Like we miss Hedi.
