I REALLY want max to be an antagonist but not in the way that drew is

I want max to think hes doing the right thing, and that hes genuinely trying to help but also not realizing hes being selfish too. Like he takes other people's feelings into account, and then ties them back to himself without realizing.... like every teenager lol

the reason hes in a way opposite of drew while causing the same result (pushing jake away) is bc drew doesnt even hide that its abt himself. he doesnt take account of others feelings, js that their affecting him and its painfully obvious in everything he says

I dont want us as the audience to realize max's actions are selfish until a rlly calm scene of maxed out talking abt it where we hear whatever intentions they want and how it contributes to whatever drama. making the audience piece together that their actions are well . not to help anyone else but themselves

Im not quite sure if this is a good way of wording all thiss,, but basically I js want max and drew to b different sides of the same coin,,, idk itd b interesting sjsjs

Since Max called Jake and Hailey "Blondie and Blueberry" in the season one finale, I like to think he would make up nicknames for Drew, Henry, and Liam during season two. And they for some reason always have something to do with food.

He meets Henry and Liam once in the halls for whatever reason and calls them “Lettucehead and, uh…Chocolate…Bar?” He swears he’ll think of a better one for Liam but never does. Drew is later deemed Grape Soda, but Zander objects and says grape soda is too good for him. They begin to brainstorm worse purple foods. Max considers calling him Licorice or something else purple-adjacent. He ends up just using various increasingly weird nicknames for Drew throughout the season. He realizes Drew hates this and does it ten times more in response. (Drew frustratedly asks why he keeps doing it when they both know Max knows his name now, but Max continues to pretend that he doesn’t).

#max is growing on me rapidly and he hasn’t even been properly introduced yet. Uh oh #also I will die on the hill that Liam’s food should be chocolate not tomato.#🍫 vs. 🍅 like within one second you can see the chocolate better suits his color scheme and fits his romance-y gimmick #I’m convinced people only ever said tomato because Henry is lettuce #but Liam is more than his relationship to Henry and his food should show that (literally no one cares this much but me lol)#Also I know this post seems mean to Drew but I promise this is how I show my love haha #the music freaks #tmf #tmf max #max tmf #tmf liam #liam tmf #tmf drew #drew tmf

Something about Max forming and leading a band and naming it after himself and Jake spending a good chunck of Highschool trying to hide his passion for Music. Max openly embraced his passion for Music while Jake tried to hide it. Do you think their middle school experiences paralleled each other. Do you think where Jake started trying to fit in when Highschool started, Max decided 'screw it, if they're gonna see me as weird anyways then why not embrace it' and started his band. Rosy give me the parallels between these two pleeeeaaaase.
