Another Controversial Question
Another controversial opinion more or less question for the community. I'm curious what people think about creators, who create incredible phenomenal content, how they offer early access between 2 to 4 months early, when EA's policy is "reasonable" which has become around 21 days in the CC community. I will name names because I'm not scared of anybody, but I'm talking about Northern Siberia Winds, Felixandre, Hey Harrie, Sixam, Cowbuild, Littlebowbub, SunSulani, and many many others... Look I'm not scared of anybody I'm trying to create conversation and I have questions. I'm not downing anybody I'm not saying that it's objectively wrong even though it's technically wrong (only based on EAs rules).. I'm just asking questions and I want people's opinions..That's it! I don't want speculation as to why I'm doing this I'm telling you flat out I want people's opinions. Before looking like a complete ass I did research..
Their current policy along with the initial policy from 2022.... Although there is no set guideline. They say a "reasonable time" and throughout the community people have come to the conclusion that 21 days is the reasonable time and the most reputable modders in the industry I have found pretty much stick to that.. some of these people don't even use 21 day early access. I have found some of the most popular that use that 0 - 21 day period are aHarris00Brittany, TwistedMexi, Deaderpool, Turbo, Peacemaker, LittleMissSam, Ravasheen, BrazenLotus.. to name a SMALL FEW..I'm just disappointed.. I don't expect anything for free because these people do things that take such a long time AND they are phenomenal. Felixandre just released a part of their Estate collection, It looks incredible, it won't be available till September and the beautiful collaboration between LittleBowBob and SixamCC is beautiful and it's not available till late August early September. I happily pay early access, and I know plenty of other people that do, that is not my issue. I support just as many people as a lot of you do.. It's just blatantly not listening to EA or taking to heart the whole "reasonable time frame".. And I know I'm just listing a couple creators when there's a litany of people out there that don't follow reasonable time frames ..My point isn't to create a burn book. It's to open conversation topics and get true opinions out there for people who can't afford $5 per custom content creator every month. That's hundreds of dollars per month that I know adds up and I'm just trying to open conversation.. honestly this is a huge reason why I love the kits that have been coming out because they're a $5 one time flat fee and gives access to people who have admired custom content creators like Trillyke, aHarris, Piersim, Madlen, Sybolette, MyshunoSun and MORE, from afar on console or on computers and they get a chance to have these people in their game.. anyway I mean the kits are another conversation in general..
I'm opening it up to this world here, come for me, come at me, talk to me, or talk at me. I don't care, I want to open up conversations..
What are people thinking? Are you happy with the direction that the community is moving? Do you want things to change? How do you feel about creators putting things behind a 6-month paywall? Are you more than happy to do it? Are you one of those people who wait as long as possible and get it for free? Are you one of these people who pay many multiple Sims CC creators so you can get early access?
