🌻BOOK REVIEW: Lanny by Max Porter🌻 . Reading Lanny felt like reading a fairy-tale. Porter’s prose is enticing, rich and dazzling. I loved how he portrays the turmoil underneath the apparent tranquility of an English village and how he captures the different voices and personalities, alongside the struggles, for each character. Lanny is a wonder of a boy, so careless and free - he is the embodiment of childhood. . Max Porter packs so much in such a short novel, but what stood out to me the most was the clash between childhood and adulthood and the realisation that we must sacrifice the former to “achieve” the latter. . Lanny was in my opinion a wonderful novel, one that needs to be reread to actually unpack all that is truly underneath it. .
