Watch Kensal House Here’s a short film from the BFI about Kensal House — the first modernist housing scheme to be built for the working classes. 

Designed by renowned modernist architect Maxwell Fry and Elizabeth Denby in 1937, Kensal House  Conceived as an ‘urban village’, the estate incorporated a nursery, social clubs, communal laundry and canteen.
