FINAL BRIEF: EVERYDAY THINGS - PHOTOGRAPHY

Today’s pictures have to do with the objects that are in my house for my sister’s birthday. It worked out nicely that my last day of my first year of college is a day full of cake and celebration. Even though during this time in quarantine birthdays are a bit different with surprise parties on zoom instead.

This first photo is a close up of the candles on my sister’s birthday cake. I really like the warm glow on the icing of the cake that highlight the higher and lower parts of the icing. I edited this photo slightly to make it darker just to give extra drama and contrast to the light from the candles.

you 27 zeeky. here’s to another year.

i didn’t think life would look like this right now. i really thought i’d be somewhere else with my career, status, all of it. but i’m learning that everything really does happen for a reason, even when it doesn’t make sense in the moment.

26 was alot. hard, confusing, humbling. definitely a death and rebirth year, a reroute. it taught me how to take hits and keep moving, how to adapt, how to build a plan and still keep going even when things don’t go my way. that’s just part of it. part of the game. part of becoming bro

i’m not exactly where i want to be yet, but i’m in a better place than i was before and that matters! ngl things feel different now, i feel different.

i’m stepping into a new version of myself. still working on my discipline, the man i’m becoming. i’m curious about what 27 is about to bring me. i know good things are coming because i’ve been putting in the work, and i’m finally starting to see that.

this year, i just want peace. peace with where i am. peace with the process. understanding that everything is written, and every delay, every reroute, is still leading me somewhere i asked to be.
