@mayfalo I had no idea there was a remake, or a sequel rather. I agree with the overproduction of such, but when I saw the cool gifs by @mayawiig or @iceteafromengland I was like: SO COOL! :D After reading your interesting yet disturbing post I instantly went to watch the trailer and then checked the votes to see 131450 upvotes 246197 downvotes. Some people rather troll and hate than appreciate so with almost 14,5 million views I thought that maybe you just unfortunately caught the top 20 of bad comments.

So I decided to scroll through some of them myself ( I dunno where you watched the trailer, but mine was the one up here) and once more was shocked how people actually sit down and spend some of their lifetime to make up comments like the ones I saw there . When I read that 'remaking the movie with women insults the original' (it still is a sequel!), 'but them being female was not even the worst part', 'Sony being fake and gay' (gay is not an insult, wtff?!). And that was only on the first page ... srsly WTFF??? Remaking that film with women would if at all honor the original!

I get when people are hardcore fans of the original movies (which I am, too, minus the hardcore), dislike remakes / sequels or maybe just some of the scenes / jokes presented. I tried and replace some of those scenes I myself disliked with the original cast and remembered single less good parts of those old movies and wondered if the respective scenes would be easier accepted with a male cast. Horrifying.

Do not see it that pessimistic, though, mayfalo. Us women are still here, we are strong and we will never give up. A few stupid comments about a movie cannot get us down. There is still a long way to go, but see how far we've come already. :)
