Am I going to hell? Yes
So theres this German A-Capella group called Maybebop. It´s four guys and they´re really really good!
The thing is I imagine now Sherlock, Mycroft, Greg and John as them and I´m just... The tallest of them is the bassist, wich fits perfectly for Sherlock and the smallest one is John and the one with the hat is Greg and I died... Theres a medley made by them about boygroups from the 2000 and earlier (like backstreet boys and stuff like that) Sorry for the shitty quality I found nothing better than that... Also they got Bohemian Rhapsody
It´s funny to watch them! The Counter Tenor is “Mycroft” and I can´t stop this silly headcanon... And they´re nearly always split in two halfs if they are: “Greg and Mycroft” and “Sherlock and John” They also did Call me Al where Mycroft and Sherlock are fighting each other... Again sorry for the quality

Es ist September und das heißt, ich muss diesen absoluten Banger wieder rauskramen
Song of the day
Festung by Maybebop
Album: Das darf man nicht (2015)
I am absolutely baffled that this song was apparently published in 2015, because - well, it is extremely 2020, isn't it? That extended metaphor of a fortress, once a place of dance and rejoicing, now empty but for one person, desperately lonely and yearning for the past but unable to leave for some reason. And if that wasn't eerie enough, there's the imagery of the other fortresses, all as empty as the first, only just visible in the distance. God, this song hits hard. Admittedly, you have to get past the slight silliness of the human voice instruments... didn't take me very long, I was captivated from the first line of lyrics (the singer's gorgeous deep voice helps!). Oh, and that wistful tone shift mid-way through the song when the singer speaks of the past... fuck. Tear my heart out, why don't you? I think if I had discovered this song three years ago it would've been on repeat for MONTHS. (Even now, this song pokes at painfully familiar feelings. I actually teared up a bit on my first listen.)
Favourite lyrics
(Paintings tell of past times/in colours that once shone brightly. /The drawbridges were open, the gates were wide./The fortress was proud and sublime./There were lively dances with music and wine./Everyone joined in the singing./Today I stride alone, through the halls of stone. In my fortress)
(When I force myself to walk the steps all the way up to the battlements./I can see them darkly at the horizon/Hundreds of fortresses warning and pleading./Silently as though abandoned I see them there/And yet I know that people still walk within them)

to all my european fellows out there, don’t forget to vote on May 26th!!!!
Seeing the hype about Bohemian Rhapsody (and seriously, the movie is amazing, go watch it if you haven’t already!), I thought it’s time to post this gem, which is one of my favourite Queen-covers ever. (Also, a capella!! <3)
