And on to art class. We're given a look at each Kanker's individual art side. This isn't the first time we've seen their artwork. The Kanker's drew pictures of themselves with the Ed they were dating. Art can explore a lot about a person's mental or emotional well being. Marie's drawing is of herself pushing May off a cliff. I have a head canon that Marie represses her emotions. She doesn't understand how to deal with her emotions. She also frets that if someone sees her in a different light they'll get the wrong image. The girls would rather have people avoid them in order to keep their life a secret. That's what their mother may want. It's implied that she is the only one working to make money. She is no longer close with her parents who were disappointed with the life she chose. The Kanker's Mom is trying to change herself for the better after the mistakes she made. I applaud her because she is an amazing mom trying to give her daughters a good life while working through most of it. She loves her daughters with all her heart. Marie takes out her anger by drawing. I like her style. She colors everything the right color. And she draws an accurate depiction of herself and May. Lee looks over May's shoulder to see what she is doing? Similar to Ed, Lee has made a license plate, but with noodles. And look, there's the AKA sign! Lee and Marie love car mechanics. Did she make it for her mother's car or is it a decoration for their room? Explore the Kanker's room whenever it's shown in an episode. They have all sorts of posters and little knick knacks. Most likely from their mother. May has been writing 'May and Edd Forever' with many hearts drawn on it. I love whenever Edd's real name is mentioned. The audience needs to be reminded that this is his name due to always being called by his nickname. May also imagines what her name would be if she married Edd. Except May decides to give Edd her last name. The Kanker's Mom never changed her name, right? The girl's don't know what a healthy marriage is like. Since their mother has kept her last name through each possible marriage they think this is what all married couples do. Either that or May doesn't know Edd's last name like the audience. May even draws herself and Edd on the paper. Look at these and compare them to the 'Daddi' drawing on the coloring box in Ed Overboard. May is a good cartoonist. She and Ed are both good artists. If they ever got together in the future they'd both have a career in this.
