I'm starting her one on one chat scenes and there are so many things I can't wait to get to that have been on my mind for her chat these last few weeks. 😌

I was wondering how Aslo (and the other ros if ya want) would react to subtle reassurances to his jealousy? What I mean is, if he has a possessive arm over their shoulder, they kiss his hand or cheek. Or cupping his face and verbally reassuring him. Not enabling the jealousy, but just being a grounding presence and assuring "i'm here and i'm not leaving." Please obviously feel free to ignore this message. Regardless, I love this story and characters so much and can't wait to see what happens next!

Aww man okay I find this so cute haha. The most jealous characters are probably Maymie > Aslo > Raena. Everyone else is pretty normal/aloof/self-depreciating lmao!

Maymie would reluctantly accept the reassurances for what they are: a distraction. She can be possessive, but she doesn't want MC to feel like they have to constantly monitor her or else. But she has a strong desire to protect MC from people — especially if they're oblivious.

Aslo would like the small reassurances a lot. He puts up a tough front, but really he's insecure about his position in MC's heart at the beginning. He's held a lot of false hope in the past and it's hard to see past that sometimes.

Raena would also enjoy them, mostly because it means MC is paying enough attention to read when she's trying very hard not to look/sound/be overtly jealous. She's 100% more of a "can we talk about something later?" person.

In the end, Raena would eventually approve of all RO's if MC was insistent enough on it and she gets over any issues she sees with them, but!! those that would need to work hardest for her approval:

Linzel. She has a hard time not seeing him as competition as they're both archers (she's better, though, just ask her). He's also good at flustering her by not raising to her bait or casually flirting with her just to make her mad.

Maymie. Like mixing oil and water but they both have a temper. Maymie thinks Raena is a goodie two-shoes, while Raena finds Maymie insufferable. It takes a good amount of time for them to sort out their relationship into something amicable.

Aslo. She doesn't hate him so much as she's baffled MC is with him. She'd be like: sure he's handsome, but isn't he kind of... stupid? (As if that's a bad thing.) She'd just have to get used to him lol.

Had a thought that made me chuckle a little. When I make a prototype MC, I always name them 'Fox' before I give a actual name. Now I'm just thinking abt a MC named 'Fox' that romances and later marries Maymie. If MC took her surname, they'd be Fox Fox.

Is it possible to romance both Linzel & Sweets? The RO intros mention a polycule with Linzel/Maymie & Sweets, but does that work without Maymie? And if so, would there still be romance there or would it stay surface level & casual?

Hmm, as I progress through the story and get a hold of my abilities and expectations for things, I'll probably end up reevaluating this BUT!!! I'm thinking now (as compared to several months ago), that it would be feasible for me to do a route that is FWB Linzel + FWB Sweets, with a possibility of one or the other becoming romantic (and then having to drop the other as a condition for catching feels). I think I'll have to remove Maymie from that equation because I can't imagine her now sharing MC with anyone but Linzel, since he is her closest friend and they've cultivated a deep trust with one another. But also she isn't the surface level type. 🤔

Sorry for the confusion as I work my way through this! Some of these things I'm finding out what really works with the characters as they come onto page and have life breathed into them, as well as what I feel like I can manage with coding and scope creep, so I end up tweaking things. 🥺🥺

Maymie Fox - [she/her, dom] A sprightly and sarcastic woman who introduces MC to their first real combat experience outside of the parish, Maymie thrives off challenges and grasping life by the metaphorical dragon horns. As an ex-street rat, she's one to always sniff out opportunities to make money, even if they're morally gray or sometimes downright crimes. In the end, if it benefits her and hers and doesn't hurt any children, then it's fair game.

Maymie is very outspoken about her feelings and beliefs and has no problem giving anyone sass when she thinks they deserve it. She has a soft spot for people that are scrupulous with their money or are overall suspicious of others, since it makes her feel like she isn't alone in a world that tells people to be virtuous — or else.

Appearance - Standing at 5'1"/156cm, Maymie draws attention to herself with bright red hair that's cut short in the back and long in the front, which makes her unusual purple eyes all the more obvious. Unlike many casting-type heroes who prefer wearing loose robes, Maymie wears well-fitted leathers and bright tunics with a chainmail undervest.

Combat - Maymie is a mage attuned and trained in lightning and water magic, although she is a close to mid-range fighter. She likes to get scrappy with her daggers, which are inlaid with purple sapphires to channel her mana, but she's not afraid to use them as throwing missiles or call down a lightning storm or drown enemies in a tsunami if the situation calls for it. If MC is also a mage, she likes to try and synergize fun magical combinations to wreak havoc on the battlefield.

Romance - Maymie loves to be in charge. If there's obvious attraction and MC doesn't ask her out first, she'll be the one to break the ice, no nonsense. Maymie can be protective and jealous, although she tries not to be overbearing, always worried that she will chase away those closest to her by being too much. In the middle of the nights she tends to get sentimental, hoping for MC to hold her to chase away the past that plagues her.
