And then u followed me back! And now i show u pictures of primrose!

So i havent been keeping super up to date on the fgo spoilers, i know the vague gist (olga, chaldeas seemingly throwing the five magics at you in its np analogue, marisbury is an asshole of unprecedented magnitude)

But uh, has beast v been revealed, or even teased? (Is ritsuka a beast candidate by virtue of the ol' emiya logic of 'has killed possible variations of humanity to save greater humanity'?)

Short answer is 'no'. That's still completely blank.

Regarding Ritsuka, I've never been a big 'Beast Candidate Ritsuka' truther, and this chapter makes it less so. Outside of their grander implications, there's a level of selfishness and lack of self-awareness consistent with the Beasts that makes them, well, beastly. They don't see things on a small scale, they don't interact with others meaningfully or on a personal level-- in fact, those more granular, meaningful interactions are what tends to move them away from Beastdom into something more compatible with the Human Order.

And narratively, Ritsuka is intrinsically a character that sees things on a more personal level. They'll risk their mission to save the life of a person who's world they have to ultimately destroy, because they care. They know what they're doing is complex morally, but also know that it's a dead end either way.

I think we hit one scenario this chapter that could fully justify a Beast Ritsuka in my eyes, and they rejected it. If Ritsuka said 'yes' to CHALDEAS' offer and decided to keep going around 'fixing Singularities' eternally while fully aware that they belonged to a Lostbelt, and that their Lostbelt was the source of it all, but was more concerned about their 'adventure' and the illusion of fixing things than actually resolving the world. Turning that 'kindness' into something hollow... that'd be Beast behavior.

But they didn't. They're still fighting to fix things, even if it may mean losing all of their experiences so far.

hey there, im sure youve gotten variations of this ask a million times; do you have a (preferably English language, sorry) version of the tain bo cuilange you'd recommend people read or buy?

can't really go wrong with thomas kinsela's "the tain" to get you into it. after that you can try poking through celtic literature collective and CELT but really you're on your own. just remember anything that tries to present "the ulster cycle" as a single coherent story is automatically an interpretation and not a translation (this goes for kinsela too), whether this is a problem is up to you.
