Game of Thrones Sound Designer Visits UArts

UArts Students Producing Music Videos

Check out their work: The University of the Arts School of Music Junior Jake Checkoway, with assistance by Sam Carlén , and Luke Bernardi put their skills to use to produce music videos for bands. Read below for more about their project and check out one of their videos:

Jake has been working on this project since December 2015, and the live recordings take place in the second floor studio of the Merriam Theater. The bands receive a fully mixed, mastered, and filmed live performance free of charge, which they can use to promote their music. Jake has gone to local shows for years and most of the bands that come in for sessions are friends of his, bands with mutual friends, or bands that he’s reached out to specifically.

The sessions are a part of an independent record label called Honest Face Records (which Jake runs), and in every video’s description, they include “Recorded at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA” which helps to promote the UArts Music Business Entrepreneurship and Technology (MBET) program by showing the potential of the studio space.
