Yannick Robin, the first disabled Ricky was discriminated against in the McCarter theater. They were called names and were illegally fired for the last three shows for throwing up blood, even though lots of actors throw up after their performance., and the role was given to their able-bodied understudy. They were also gaslight into thinking the character was never disabled.

The script is now permanently changed so that Ricky never had the disability. Sign the petition to change that please!

I honest to god LOVE how the vibes that Jane Doe gives off in the Alliance RTC and McCarter RTC are so different despite there being no changes. The Alliance Jane Doe gives off a ghostly vibe, a mystery, with an echo accompanying her voice (probably due to her hollow doll head). A shell of her former self. Then there’s the McCarter Jane Doe, who managed to keep her personality after death and is more of a kind of dark comic relief character. The scene that shows the difference the most is the “Savannah with the Greenest Eyes” scene. Alliance Jane Doe says this in a wistful way, a small spark of hope as she imagines herself as such. McCarter Jane Doe announces this with pride as if saying “Look! I finally have an identity now!” These two portrayals of the same character are so unlike each other but are both equally wonderful.
